Would the average session fee rise or fall? I mean there could be a huge demand or a huge supply depending which one is greater. However what do you guys think?

Also why is it illegal while porn which corrupts the minds of people far more is legal?

Well, I think there are multiple facets to this; on one side, I have no doubt that the supply side would certainly increase, and we know for sure that excessive supply drives the price down. But at the same time, if it were legalized, then the government would try to get all in our business, with licenses, mandatory tests and registries. This overhead would cost money and be passed on to us consumers. So its really hard to say. One example would be the brothels in Nevada - though I have never played there, my understanding is that the fee is not cheap.

The hobby is legal in some counties of Nevada. While I do not know the rate structure there, it would be an indicator of what the market will pay.

Actually legalization wouldn't drive up demand or bring price down. Legalization would equate to Government contingencies. Example, girls could not work independently. Only brothels could operate legally. The girls would have to give portions of their fees to the business. They would also have to provide their own linens, and other accruements. The girls would also be required to maintain a health status by being tested for any STD's every six months all this at their own expense. The only true benefits of legalization for provider and client alike would be a higher level of safety and a lower risk of prosecution.

Depends on if government exerts control or if it stays in the private sector. In Germany the government has a lot of say so a sponsored provider is safe, earns points for retirement, and only charges $50 (in 1981) for basic service (half and half). You go out on the street and you find it much cheaper but more it is more hazardous.

A lot of young girls fresh out of high school and who have no other means would enter the business just to get through college and not have to flip burgers for $8/hr. Extremely difficult to put yourself through college working at McDonalds. Even at $50/hr working part time, or 20 hours, is $52,000/yr which is easy enough to go to school on. The price would plummet.

My brother went to the old Mustang ranch about 30 years ago. He said the woman pulled out a "menu" and the cheapest thing was $400. He said that he only brought $175 and she took it.

About 6-7 years ago there was a woman looked like Lena Horne who said that she charged $400 in Pahrump but only charged $240 at Houston Escape. I am assuming the house took half in each case. I'm not seeing a dollar amount on the few Nevada Brothel websites so it must still be highly negotiable.

To the OP question: guess is the price would eventually fall. Damn I miss commoditized sex.
