Yesterday I Google'd my use name, which I use at several sites, just to see what came up. Was surprised to see all of my ECCIE requests and ISOs. How do I stop this?

Closing the account does not get rid of the cache that Google stores. You should never use a name on a site like this that can be identifiable to the real world activities that you do.

If you are serious, quit using Google. It data mines everything you. Use DuckDuckgo.com Change your Avatar, to common one. My avatar comes up on hundreds of forums.
