Uneducated Ignorant Americans
There has been an uproar about the coca cola commercial and the song "America the Beautiful" being sung in different languages. I thought it was awesome as we are a very diverse country and it portrayed that love of the USA by many different cultures, races, etc. Not just the good ole white boy.
The best FAIL was some south Louisiana fucking redneck stating that they should not do that to our "National Anthem."
Uhh DUH dumbass! America the Beautiful is NOT the anthem.
Does this shit happen up north? It seems that some comments are neo nazi and part of that patriot movement.

I kinda laugh at the let's just say "much less informed" seemingly large group of people that think America the Beautiful is our national anthem? Since Coca Cola is a worldwide product now and has been since it's beginning,I saw nothing wrong with it,it was good advertising. Now I would have been pissed if it would have been The National Anthem sang in any other language but English. Personally I thought the best commercial was the Budweiser Clydesdale commercial..

Chellachella you are so right sugar that shows how race or bigotry will never die because of dumb comments like that ! I was listening to 105 this morning at work and all of the people slamming the commercial, I too thought it was well done ! When will the world learn to accept we are all humans on one planet no matter what creed or color !
Makes me wonder how we talk about exploring the stars what if we found something out there ? Hell we can't come toghter or accept other races on our on world !

Lat if my memory is correct and just based on where you told me to find firewood, umm, these people are up in your neck of the woods. My friend or whatever she is now because I am reconsidering that relationship actually defended the Klan. Its this movement that is going on. It is like they want this country to remain white only, no other cultures, no diversity, no other religions, languages, etc. Its their way or no way.

Agreed. The unfounded arrogance of most are only perpetuated by the media and the fact that we cannot have true discourse on any issue. Everything usually digresses to name calling and labeling someone a communist/fascist/socialist/Nazi any one, or all which only proves the ignorance.

When I first saw the commercial I knew it would make a certain group of people mad. I loved it. It shows that this country is a jambalaya of races mixing together.
I wonder how many complained about the Cheerios commercial with the mixed family making their return.

I don't normally speak up around the forums other than to review providers, but this debate or whatever you want to call this issue dealing with Coca-Cola has persuaded me to be a little vocal.
First of all, I've read a few news articles regarding this issue, and the people claiming "America the Beautiful" as our national anthem...well I don't believe they've ever heard of the Star-Spangled Banner. They're misinformed or just plain stupid.
Secondly, for those claiming the song should only performed in English, here's a little fun fact. English (specifically American English) has never been formally (meaning on a federal level) inducted as the United States official/national language. As a matter of fact, our country does not have one. That is a fact, look it up.
Lastly, the entire point of the song seems to be lost on many folks. Our country is made up of many different ethnic groups, who speak many different languages. America is beautiful because of that. We do not have a national language, so why would there be a need for a patriotic song to be sung in one specific language?
I understand most, if not all, of the people slamming the advertisement are probably racist or just misinformed patriots, but grow the fuck up. We're living in a country full of many different races and that's not going to change.
P.S. The commercial also showed a gay couple in it, I personally applaud Coca-Cola for this, best commercial of the year.

YES MBR YOU SAID IT ALL!
Thanks everyone, I was wondering if I was wrong to feel the way I do, or if I was misinformed. Apparently not.
