The problem is, we've allowed/enabled the creation of a cottage industry of folks and groups that are offended by something (or anything) and leveraged/used to demonize anyone or anything they wish to oppose.

For example, the lady on MSNBC was only making a joke about Romney and the grandbaby situation on that segment. I did see the humor in it (especially since I know the routine/song they used from being a dad) and it's funny. Anyone on the right who is upset at that should get the fcuk over it. It was a joke.

On duck dude Phil, there's obviously a very purposeful effort ongoing now to continue a targeted witch-hunt towards him. Of course this is because the last one fizzled out and there is a small (minded) group of our population that was very disappointed that A&E and Cracker Barrel backtracked on their position on Phil. So now in their angst, those disappointed folks continue to prod and search through media for something or anything to make that guy (Phil) pay for not giving them their pound of flesh.

One fun way to illustrate the hypocrisy of some of those folks (ala: the ones who are now calling Phil a pedophile enabler) is to ask them this:

"If a gay man initiates sexual relations with a male child is that man a gay pedophile?"

I've actually posed that exact question before in a mixed group of leftists in DC and the emotional meltdown that ensued from them was quite delightful to watch. The slobbering amount of excuses, attempts to redirect the question (to girls) and outright indignation and anger at even the suggestion of such a premise (gay pedophiles) was hilarious.

Shining the light on hypocrisy is one of the best methods to illustrate the utter BS in U.S. politics and the social gerrymandering that's going on (to/from both political parties) which divide us. They all suck and we all (me too) suck for allowing it to continue.

In my simple minded (lol) opinion we collectively keep putting fcuked up people in positions of local and national leadership (from both parties) and then end up wondering why....things are so fcuked up?

We are definitely not the greatest generation(s) in this relatively young country but we can change that if we really want to.

Note: I've never seen one single episode of the duck show nor even knew the name of the guy until it was made into news. I don't agree with much of what he said but I'm not offended by it either. Blending our diversity is what made us a great country. Diversity of thought and the freedom to express such will keep us strong.

In reality, most people don't give a fuck unless it concerns them. A&E and CB will not suffer regardless of what they decide. How's that for changing the world?

I agree with shining a light on bs. It may take a few thousand times before anyone really notices but its always better to point it out rather than ignore it.


And Jarvis, I'm pretty sure women are the most oppressed group of citizens throughout the history of the world and even I can see the hipocrasy in what SD is pointing out.

Special interest groups are infamous for their lack of objectivity and accepting accountability for their own failures or contributions to overall failures.

For example, even today, you still don't hear how certain people were responsible for selling their own to other countries. You only hear about how certain people were taken from their homeland and forced to work for others with little to know pay. Not one word are children taught that illustrates the financial benefit to the leaders in the homeland for selling off their own citizens. Its a fact that is painful to account for so special interest groups have all but erased it from history.

Not trying to start a new war here just trying to offer some perspective.

Everyone should be held accountable for their failures not just "the man".

I agree with you SD. I sadly am not even motivated to vote for the final candidates of most political races. I'll vote on props and local offices but can't in good conscience vote for the big players anymore because they all Fcuking suck.

Having NO way to quantify such a claim, I would point out that the poor, the weak and those who were over powered, enslaved or victims of genocide would have been more oppressed than women.

Who do you believe were more oppressed in the history of the US, women or African-Americans?

Or better yet, go ask a young African girl how she enjoyed her clitoris being cut off to prevent her from experiencing sexual pleasure - its a fairly common practice there. Ever heard of the any extremist religions allowing women to work or conduct business - personal or otherwise - outside the home? Are you familiar with the population demographics and gender culture of Africa and the Middle East? If you don't think women are the most oppressed group in the history of the world then you need to go do some reading. They constitute over half the world's population and own less than 1% of its property. Anything else???

I think I may need to read more to answer that correctly.

Without reading more, I believe there are many groups that are equally oppressed in both. One of the most alarming are children, mostly abroad.
