Im planning on a visit to nola this weekend .

whats a good place /area/ hotel to stay at a reasonable price .

I havent been to nola before . This would be my first time if there is enough interest .

Any suggestions ?

lower garden district...cbd/warehouse district.....downtown

There are a lot or reasonably priced hotels near the airport, too. Veteran's blvd has several.

I just made it and I'm staying downtown for a decent price + the Nola scenery and food is close, pm for more info and have a great visit!

If you're coming to Nola to go sightseeing or to party then the French Quarter is an expensive but good choice. If you're coming here to provide then stay in Metairie or Kenner.
Traffic and parking is a bitch in the FQ on weekends. I'd rather drive 90 miles to BR than deal with the hassles of the Quarter. (Which btw I did that both times I saw you)

Some locals prefer Metairie. French Quarter isn't expensive if you use Priceline.

She can stay in the CBD & still be convenient to both Le Quartier & Metairie. But Metairie is the popular choice. Baba is right though: if you're not coming to work, but just to party & have a weekend off, you would probably want to stay closer to the Qtr.
