They ought to just call it the music Hall of Fame. There are several acts in there that are not rock acts.

My votes:
Paul Butterfield played at Woodstock and is already a member of the Blues Hall of Fame
Deep Purple - for the Smoke on the Water riff alone
Kiss - long overdue even though Gene is an asshole
Nirvana- they and Pearl Jam rescued the world from those shitty hair bands like Motley Crue
Linda Ronstadt- You're No Good, but she was great
Cat Stevens influenced a number of musicians and many have recorded his songs
Yes - yes
Zombies - It's the Time of the Season
Link Wray introduced the power chord to rock music in 1958 with Rumble. He was very influential and even has a greatest hits album. His music is in Pulp Fiction
Peter Gabriel - has about 12 hit songs after Genesis....Big Time
Hall and Oates - they may be poppy but they wrote some good songs. If you disagree, You're out of Touch

Why the Doobie Brothers are not in, I cannot fathom
Pyramider is right. If you are going to include bands like Chic, it should be the Music HOF.

I agree. Call it something else. I think LL Cool J is on the ballot this year.
LL Cool J?
Can anyone name a single hit song of his?
Anybody still listening to his albums? Name one without going to Google.

Not one of those songs belongs in something called the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame". They belong in something new called "Commercially Successful Shit Hall of Fame".

Around the way girl...my fav
Goin back to Cali
Jingling baby
Big ole butt

Although LL is not rock n roll, he has been in the industry for 20 yrs. He broke ground in his genre. He didn't ask to be in Rock n Roll hall of fame, but to say he is insignificant and had no hits is not true.

P.S....his lips alone deserve their own hall of fame

Mama said knock you out and Big ole Butt...sounds like good stuff. I'll make sure and put that right up there with my Stones, Led Zep and Bad Company collection.

I actually like him as an actor but not as an R & R hall of famer.
I didn't say he didn't have any radio hits.
Who else do you guys like ? Marky Mark and the Funky bunch?
Might as well just throw everybody in there that ever had radio hit songs.
Are the Osmond Brothers there? How about The Archies?
Sugar Sugar....

Well Chung, you certainly have wide-ranging musical tastes and there's nothing wrong with that.
Hell, I still cry when I hear Mr. Bojangles.
I can usually appreciate something from each artist.
They are all good enough to at least earn a recording contract, sell tracks and entertain a crowd and that's not a small feat.
