Default A quick revisit..

http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=865343

I spoke with the OP today and he mentioned this thread. I missed it so I went back and reread it. I realize it was closed and since it is just now 30 days old, hopefully the "bump" rule does not apply.

For what it's worth, I have known Frank for many years...he is both a standup guy and a gentleman. I'm not going to hash out what was discussed...but suffice it to say that it was a misunderstanding and he understands why she got spooked.. I might add though that to my knowledge, LE does not usually wear badges when they are working undercover...LOL. The 60 OKs he has on P411 are certainly legit and he is for sure one of the good guys in this endeavor...I would trust him with my last dime.

Good of you to post this Malwoody. An accusation such as that can damage a hobbyists reputation intensely. And being a provider hearing an alert such as that, without ever seeing him, it's scary. And you are correct, an undercover doesn't wear a badge. I only wish some of the females who had okayed him on p411 would have stepped up in his defense.

He plays mostly in Dallas and Chicago and not around here as much so could be why the 411 thing...

Default count my vote too, please....

I have known Frank for several years as well, and am more than willing to vouch for his integrity and good reputation in this sub-culture. Actually, I spoke with him just this afternoon because he called to apologize for missing my birthday last week and he wanted for us to catch up this week and I gladly said, "yes".

Malwoody's statements about Frank are accurate and honest and I commend him for speaking out on behalf of Frank.

frank and kat,

i dont know either of you. so, i'm cannot vouch or stickup or white knight or whatever.

i'm just very sorry that you two went thru a way less than deliteful encounter and that a deliteful experience was not in the cards for you two.

to me, what you two experienced was a severe communication breakdown and the consequences that ensued.

again, sorry it happened.

from what i read,

It was a badge on his shirt and I also heard people in the hallway so you can only imagine what I'm thinking at this time. ... 10 minutes later he texted and tried to explain his reasoning for wearing a badge. By this time I already made up my mind that I wasn't seeing this gentleman.
note he wrote it was a shirt w/ an emblem.
note she wrote it was a badge.
obviously, appearances are deceiving and she freaked when she saw his shirt and thought there was a badge.

now, what might have happened if he wore a different shirt?
what might have happened if there hadnt been people in the hallway?
what might have happened if the light had been better and she could see it was an emblem or if she asked him what was on his shirt?
what might have happened if she let him know rather quickly that she was spooked by the "badge" and not wait until he texted that he was going to write a NCNS review on her?
what might have happened if they BOTH communicated better about the situation?

we'll never know.
but kat calls her shots and called this shot according to her comfort level.
and frank calls his shots and called this shot according to his comfort level.
neither one of them is wrong or right, bad or good, stupid or supersmart, inconsiderate or empathetic, an ass or an angel, a bitch or a bastard, or a whatever.
they are just people in a situation and dealt with it in the way they know how.

and werent "destined" for a deliteful encounter.
again, i am very sorry that happened to them.
maybe one day they'll have a deliteful encounter. maybe not.
maybe just in the parallel "everything always goes right" universe.

wrt the followups and responses in the thread, what is amusing and saddening to me is that just about everyone that posted afterward wrote that he had a badge, even tho they werent there, they had no idea of what he was wearing, or what she saw.
so, therefore, it MUST have been a badge based on what she wrote.

just shaking my head at people not really reading, just blindly assuming and running w/ it as if it were fact.

Thanks to all who came to my defense. PM, I think you for your accurate reading of the original post (s) and yes while aparently in ones mind a iron on emblem on a black polo shirt was perceived as a badge.... Neither one of us got what we wanted or expected to get from each other that day... That is for sure. I thought about posting a picture of the offensive emblem but there's really no need. It's over.. It's done... End of story.
