Default Canadian Company?

For you that are more computer savy than I am, why did the US Government use a Canadian Company to set up the ObamaCare web sites.

Was there no US owned Company qualified,or was it simply put out to the lowest bidder?

Low bidder? It cost the taxpayer over $600 million.

Yes, it is a Canadian Company. CGI of Quebec.

Hmmm, because kathleen and company are incompetent and stupid?

A little excerpt from CBS regarding the first week, for some humor:

"Health care consultant Bob Laszewski says plan insurers he has heard from report enrollment is low. The administration hoped 7 million would choose a policy by the end of the year. But he said some major companies have told him their enrollment numbers are in the hundreds."

"However, emails we have seen written by insurance executives describe enrollment numbers as "ugly." One said politicians and others have their "heads in the sand."

"This program doesn't work if we don't get the healthy people to sign up to get enough premium into the program to work," says Laszewski. "It's not going to work for insurance companies, and it's certainly not going to work for the Obama administration."

Lovin me some Obamacare

For this thing to work mathematically it needs at least 7 million to sign up by the end of the year and 3 million have to be under the age of 30 and healthy.

Why would Odumbo do anything that might help an American corporation's business and hire more American workers. That would ber totally against his policies. Remeber his tour bus, Canadian.

Another reason could be that no American company would want to touch it and face the possibility of endless litigation when it is hacked and personal information is leaked. May be difficult to sue the Canadians. My bet would be the contract and possibly some international law would protect them like they could not be protected here.

Okay, the media had it wrong but question stills remains, what kind of system did we pay nearly 100 million for? Now when I say we I mean the taxpayer and not me personally. I figure I have to start pointing these simple things out. You know things like media reports as opposed to sitting back in the weeds sniping about details rather than standing up like a man and making a statement. You also need to learn the difference between a lie (you know like Obama) and going on bad information. There is a great deal of difference.

With all the websites out there do you think this one currently holds the record for the most fuck ups? I think it does and if it doesn't then they covered up the mistakes by shutting down the system and killing the engineer. It must make our enemies fear really soft and fuzzy when they think of our radar systems, navcomm systems, and strategic systems put together by this government. As for as the OP (you thought I'd forgotten) is CGI a Canadian company or not?

Considering it was paid for with taxpayer money, YES, I am complaining about glitches. Why aren't you? Remember this is part of your baby.
