Am I the only one getting more then a little bit peeved about all of the ads plastered across this board??
A wide section of the top, down both sides, pop ups, and now across the bottom! WTF????? Really???? Makes me not want to post at all. Blinking, flashing, moving gifs all over the place.... about 40% of our space is ads! How many more can they fit on here???

I completely agree with you Mary Ann!!

I, for one, am completely digusted by the wide open "cookie shots" that some of the ads contain and try to keep those drop downs closed.

Is there a way to disable them (ads) as a user feature?

What do you think keeps the site open?
I suppose an alternative would be for them charge providers to post ads, you wouldn't complain about that, would you?

If you look closely at the majority of them especially welcome wagon... you may just see some shit that speaks volumes. New... but verified... reviews by handles that are questionable... P4 and ter accounts... too bad the people bombarding us with backpage recruits have no idea how to market them effectively. .. lmfao.

As for keeping the site open... I would devise a back up stategy for both member and providers in the event there is an unfortunate end to this one. Google is your friend. Texas senate isnt.

There are a decent amount of browsers that you can use to turn off the ads..

The person two above me made a great point.. The main site back east you have to pay to advertise. I would rather the banners personally.. If you use an iPad or iPhone you can use Icab to turn off the ads.

What really distracts me is all of those jumping, dancing, etc smileys to the right of the message box.

Some ads are fine...and I wouldn't mind paying a fee. personally 3-5 banners across the top and a monthly fee or fee per ad would be fine. How its sat up now, its really hard on the eyes!

I agree, Mary Ann. I think the ads are in really poor taste and detract from the purpose of the site, which is discussion and reviews. All the gentlemen pay for premium access in one way or another: I don't see why we have to see advertising also. I like the look of the p411 site: just the ladies, and nothing else.
