Thank you for sharing. You are doing the right things. Get through this and then give yourself a chance to heal. I have lost 2 dogs, both over 10yrs old, in the last 36months. It truly does suck. There is a great book available on Amazon, titled "goodbye friend", written by a Unitarian minister named Gary Kowalski. I have found comfort in his writings and perhaps you may also.

Corona
I am so sorry.
Losing a furry baby is so incredibly hard.
Even though it is so hard to let them go it is such an incredible kindness we do them by putting an end to their pain when the time comes.
I am sure your pup was well loved and very lucky to have you as his human.

Peace to you and your companion. It's fucking hard. No other way to put it. So sorry.

I am so sorry. One of the saddest days of my life when we had to say goodby to old Sam. My current pup name is Oreo. I truly hope you have a peaceful day. Again, so sorry to hear the news.

Yep. I feel ya Corona. They can't tell us where it hurts. Testimony that good vets and pediatricians are the best care takers in the stable. I have 3 rescues and 1 German Shorthair right now. Just lost my Cocker buddy Raz and my Cairn Terrier. It sucks.

Healing from the loss of a loved one can be so difficult at times.

Peace be with you.

Corona: I feel your anguish; I dread the coming day my 14 yo 100 lb Malmute Shepard mix will leave for his next adventure.

Shea: My heart goes out to you. My black stray, Phantom, who adopted me as a kitten 15 years ago is getting slower and slower. I dread the day I no longer hear his different meows for what he wants.

Corono Shea Nightman I share your anguish over those lost beings that mean so much and are not a person. I have lost several dogs and cats as they have been part of my universe since I left home as a teen. Currently I dread the departure of a 14 yo 100 lb Malmute/Shepard mix rescue at 4 months, I call Rebel ( after my nature) and 16 yo all black stray male cat, adopted me, whom I call Phantom ( ( you can never see him except when hungary ).

Pets are love on four paws. They have a way of snuggling around our hearts.

My 18 year old cat was eased over June 13th due to advanced cancer. It's one of the hardest things to deal with in life.

Each day will become more bearable afterwards. May not seem like it. But you have to focus on other things to pull yourself through.

I'll keep a candle lit next to the one I constantly burn for Oreo. It's a comforting way of remembering.

Shea, I am very sorry to hear that about Oreo. Oreo was a beautiful cat and you took very good care of him.

I'm so sorry to hear about your fur babie. I lost my Mom last year and then just a few weeks later my 15 yo Westie. Calling the vet was one of the hardest things I have ever done.

Time eases the pain but I know mine will never go away.

Yup, I too treat my pets as part of my family and not just as yard ornaments. I believe they gods gifts to us. They keep our houses free of rodents and let us know when someone else is around.

Keep your chin up. It gets better.
