I see what your saying but the only ones ive seen that others were empathetic towards were the providers who WANT a relationship but find it difficult given thier craft. I dont think there is a right OR wrong answer here.
The only thing I can say for sure is everybody needs somebody, whether that be now or later in life. I can also say being in my 40's that the opportunities I had early on grow few and far between the older I get. Im not sure what the answer is but it seems best left up to the individual whos happiness it effects. Imo.
