I've come to the conclusion that pre-booking is an exercise in futility.
Most of them couldn't schedule a bowel movement.
They just take who shows up first with the cash.

I find scheduling a BM can be difficult...
Bur I've come to the conclusion that in ths business, the normal course of logic doesn't apply, certainly can't be relied on

Ditto.
I think travelling providers will cancel if there are no pre books.....
I also know that calling at exactly the right time is paramount.
I do see a couple of UTR's that require a pre book.... but that is because they have real lives and we need to schedule around both of our lives.....
(And I have a couple of UTR's that I can contact willy nilly..............

It depends on who you pre-book with. If it's with a traveler that can be dicey. If they don't get enough pre-books they cancel the trip. Whenever I've pre-booked with a local VP it's worked out well.

This (bolded) .... 9 times out of 10 I will cancel with the quickness since uuuhhhh D.C. isn't exactly around the corner if things go bad ya' know? lol
I've had to explain to quite a few just saying you'd like to see me is not quite the same as pre-booking/actually setting something up. If I dunno what to expect and can't see my expenses covered and some (at minimum) ahead of time I don't see the point in showing up and hoping for the best, twiddling my thumbs and flickin' my own bean out of town when I can do that at home and not have wasted time and money lol.
Also I'd like to think I'm usually pretty prompt in how I respond also and include in all of my ads the many ways they can reach me (I expect most guys to know to cover their bases especially if I make them available to them).

That's my thing too, even if I just go to Buffalo it's 2 hours away, gas, tolls, and I stay in 2 1/2 star-4 star depending on location requested by regulars and prebooks and events going on at the hotels, sometimes just buffalo has a 500+ overhead.
I've been extremely fortunate to only have to cancel a hand full of trips in almost 6 years.
That's a big part of why I give specials, I like to have prebooks and stay low volume. Specials always insure multihour dates and overnights.

I don't do so-called VPs any more.
Booooring!
And traveling racks are a joke.
It's the price I pay for new strange.
PT and/or pimps are usually the problem.

I prefer prebooked appts but if I don't have anything set up and a regular calls ill take it. I don't know what the circumstances were for her cancellation but we're not perfect. ive forgotten to write a pre book down or had the wrong time written. it happens. but on the rare occasion I do screw up I apologize, and say if they are willing to reschedule and not to pissed I will offer a discount...and not a $20 slap in the face discount bc after all I wasted your time which is also just as important as mine...now only of the guys offered my fee plus $100 for every time they cancel and reschedule. I don't know you gbof, but guys are way worse than any good reputable vp here as far as cancelling and showing up on time. and who sends unsolicited txts begging for appts??? that's very risky if you have a so and not mention unprofessional...are you sure this is a vp bc it sure doesn't sound like it?

Let us keep in mind and this is more for the hobbyist than providers, because their comments are right on point. I can't speak for other providers, because I have wanted days for references, so there are those out there lacking tcb skills, which i'm sure can be frustrating for the hobbyist. HOWEVER.......THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY!!!!!
