Default Security Alert?

Periodically, I am getting a pop-up saying that the webpage is trying to open a site in my trusted site list. Then it asks me if I want to allow it.

Is this a bug/virus on the webpage? TBH I only recently noticed it. Not sure if it is related to IE10 or something else.

Ha! sorry I missed that. switch to a better browser, IE sucks hardcore. (Use ninite.com because it downloads without malware and 3rd party software AND it's one click install!)

Chrome also has a malware detection built it, but you can disable it.

Also, whether you get chrome or firefox, i recommend the follow addons/extentions: Adblock plus (https://adblockplus.org/)

I tried adblocker with IE and still got the security warning pop-up. Worse, when I closed the security popup, it crashed IE. I disabled adblocker and will look at an alternate browser. Thanks for the help.

If you need a second opinion, here it is:

Stop using that bug-riddled POS "browser" that MS foists upon you. Get Chrome or Firefox.

ffs, YoHou, your avatar is driving me up the wall. Make her stop for a minute, will ya?

Check IE10's trusted site list - maybe you have set up some site as a trusted site, that is being linked to from a site that is not on your trusted site list.
(Tools-> internet options -> security tab -> click on trusted sites (green check mark), and then click the sites button)

IE10 is really not the same as the IE 6 or older. Since IE10, it has improved dramatically, with significantly better performance than older versions (check sunspider or peacemaker/FutureMark results), better security settings, better tracking protection etc.

Not to say that Chrome doesn't have these - it does. But so does IE.
Personally, I use Chrome (because I use an Android phone with the Chrome browser, and the integration is worth it for me). I still use IE at work (even though Chrome is permitted) - works just fine.
