I can only speak for myself, but for me it's all about control through denial (not of air, I'm not OK with breath control). Denial is one of my biggest buttons and being denied the chance to fully engage with a favorite partner gets me all flavors of riled up.

The means to meet these ends are varied -- blindfolds, restraints, trio play, a partner with a strong will, hell, even French where I'm not allowed to hop on does it for me. Being stripped of a sense during a high sensory activity is a sure-fire way to make sure that my big button is pushed. It's more difficult (but possible) to push it without props.

(Thaaaaaat being said, it's also a button that requires a combination to push and not all boys have access to the code. And oddly enough, I never know who has the combination. Kink is tricky like that.)

I've been hobbying for a long time; many years. Connecting with someone who understands how to work with a partner to create a brief fantasy respite....a mini escape into another world....certainly has its benefits and is very much worth the additional effort. These masks certainly contribute to that.
