Tinman, I use an Android so I don't know what iPhone has available. I keep my "private" numbers in an app that is not visible and is accessed by keying a code sequence on your phone. It does not record calls or texts to your log. I format each number with my google voice number, pause, access code, pause, 2, pause, private number, #.

Sometimes it takes a minute or more to go through, but it has always worked.

When I use the GV app, it is much faster. I do have to watch for the screen asking if I want to call with or without GV (a setting I opted to use).

Mine works just fine.

Love Google Voice!

I also switched from an Android to an Iphone and use the Google Voice App.

It's more simple but I also have 3 different notifications to alert me of a text or call so I don't miss anything.

i usually make a test call to another phone in my control to insure that inbound caller ID only shows my GV number and not my RL number.

This is how my GV is set up with no problems ... I try to log off and reboot my iPhone once a day ... I have noticed that trying to call from the browser takes a "preparing your call" process and sometimes doesn't go throug ... Using the GV app solves the problem ... why not use the app?

Depends on the Internet connection. If you around a lot of tall. Buildings like an apartment, then signal may suffer and call doesn't go through.
