Default Best place for a morning hike?

Anyone have an idea on the best place to get a good hike in? I love nature and silence, I’ve been told red rock is a good place to start.

Any insight would be great.

Valley of Fire State Park has miles and miles of trails. One of my personal favorite places, and some beautiful scenery too.

There are also a couple of great hikes, more rugged though, on the Arizona side of Hoover Dam. Lake Mead Rec Area. Trailheads are right on US93 within a few miles of the dam. Here is a a particularly cool trail around the dam. http://www.nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit/hikerr.htm

Summer desert hiking can end up badly for people and frequently does. Good info here

My ECCIE Reviews
Thumbs up I Second V of F

Red Rock is great if you don't want too far of a drive. If you prefer a little road trip prior to your hike, Valley of Fire is amazing. I've really enjoyed my time there. I pack a cooler full of eats & drinks and make a day of it with the family. Nothing like it Wherever you go, post pictures of your adventures! Happy hiking

Yeah I’ve been trying to ease into this heat here it’s a little different than Chicago but it’s a lot less humid which is great.

I’m in really good shape and I stay hydrated, I’ve got a 3 mile run route in my neighborhood that I have been running everyday mixed elevations being it is kind of hilly in there.

I know the heat will reach out and kick your ass here for sure so I have been careful.

I have room for a gym at the house but I think I’ll get a membership around town some place that I can look at great asses in yoga pants hehe.

I’ve been out to Red Rock, but yet have been to Valley of Fire.
