Golden Ox by Kemper is good plus it may sound boring, but Hereford House always puts out a great steak.

Strange as it seems, I had one of the best steaks I've ever had at a chain. it was a terrific Filet at Carrabas on Metcalf. Wood fired grill, with a side of grilled Scallops.

Golden Ox is good; but the best steak I have had in town is -- wait for it -- The Savoy Grill. I had a business associate who was sick and tired of the chain hotels and had looked up the Savoy Hotel. We had steaks for supper which were beyond fantastic. I met him again for breakfast (which is on the house for him). Talk about fantastic, I have had lamb for both breakfast and dinner at the Savoy. I don't think there is a better steak in KC. This is a sleeper.
I have never been to the rooms. He says they are very nice, but old time. He liked the smaller hotels; sick and tired of the chains because he travels several times a week. I understand because I traveled for years. It is the out of the way, away from the national chains, where you can find the gems.
But then, if you want the best steak at a cheap price; buy one from Mogonigle's Market at 1307 West 79th Street (at Ward Parkway) for the best steak in town: from a great butcher. Put it on an outside grill in your backyard with a little Lea & Perrins Worchestershire sauce (there is no substitute for Lea & Perrins).

Without question there have been some great suggestions
But if you really want to break the mold, and enjoy the world renown, second to none.... KC #1 steak environment...the choice is really simple
My place... just a stone's throw from the first-class and exclusive VIP, Midwest premier adult entertainment venue.....Klub Le~HoLe
1) Outstanding, unique & unparalleled atmosphere
2) Front door personalized valet parking...make a reservation and then just pull up and literally watch your problems literally melt away (no extra charge for that)
3) World-class & distinguished, award winning client services
4)Expertly prepared steak to your wishes...not by some faceless, wanna bee chief
5) And finally.... Serving only the finest quality prime beef in this part of the Universe...and oh yea the steaks are great too
Lovely ladies need to try it out....no disappointments are ever allowed. Once you have tried the rest...you'll always come back to the very best!! First visit on me....second one, well on me as well....we have a very, very generous client appreciation program, that is always evolving to the next highest level, lol
{forbidden topic- CK}
As far as the guys....take a freaking number and I will get back to ya, at my earliest convenience. For the guys, PM only...no texting, no e-mails, no twittering or twattering, no begging, no trading, no stalking or crying and definitely no phone calls (as your number will not only be blocked but you will be weeded out)....can ya feel me ladies???? l
Also when you not in the mood for a earth shaking, dream creating, fantasy busting experience at my place....
J Alexander's not a bad place

+1
The Savoy is an overlooked "gem" in KC. Not only is the food good, but it has old school charm, great wait staff, etc. Nice place for a romantic dinner too.

Yeah, but I hear that the owner is always trying to get into the guest's panties.

Actually BigMike...we did at one point have a problem with the whole panties issue. But being pro-active, we simply developed a new rule...no panties allowed. Solved that problem!
Sadly in my original post, I also discussed the wonderful dessert items that are available as well.
But since a certain somebody, apparently has no sense of humor...that will be a lovely surprise, to be enjoyed in person only. LOL.
And you are absolutely right about the Savoy being a wonderful trip to the old times. I love the waiters with the white gloves, and everything else about it.
I used to have a fun tradition. During October, with the haunted houses open. We would get a room at the Savoy, dress up formally have a kick ass meal there.
And then change into our casual attire and hit a couple of the late night haunted houses. And then back to the Savoy room, and enjoy hearing those bumps
in the nights, which were supposedly part of it's haunted stories. Of course they also could have been other reasons for those sounds...but folks with no
sense of humor would.....aaaaaaa, let's just say enough to that story, lol
Regarding Plaza III and Hereford House...good steaks can be had there. But I have found the consistency to be lacking. For the prices they charge, they need to get it every time.
