Perhaps, but not this questionable or this public. Besides, it was also a time-honored tradition for the offenders to slink away forever after being caught. Why did that end?
I keep thinking what would the late NY Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan say? He would admonish his fellow New Yorkers about DEFINING DEVIANCY DOWN. At the rate New York is going, it won't be long before the standard set by another late Senator (Huey Long of Louisiana) is breached - even being caught in bed “with a dead woman or a live boy” won't disqualify you from public office in NYC.
