Cancellation fee?
I was just browsing through ads and stuff around here and I saw something in a providers ad that said there would a cancellation fee if an appt. is missed. I am curious: how would a provider collect this? The next time she sees the guy? Not trying to stir up trouble I am just curious.

I figure that it would be the next date but I would not see someone if I knew there was a cancellation fee the next time I saw her. I was just wondering...I had never seen this before.

Are you talking straight cancellation or NCNS?
What about if that provider cancels? Does she offer a cancellation rebate? If she's going to charge you an additional 50 for canceling, will she cut your donation by 50 if something comes up with her and she has to bail?

Unless you see her after you have canceled, providers cannot enforce these type of fees. However many providers do state that the cancellation fee does go towards your next visit. Those that do this usually receive their fee through P411, which allows you to send money to a provider.

Maybe I'm too nice, but sometimes when I've cancelled, I've offered compensation for the providers time. Sometimes it pays off, but mostly providers are understanding that, like people have said before: life happens.

^^ ML thats very kind and sweet of u.
I myself was wondering the same .. but unless they are a loyal client then i dont understand why they would see u plus pay the fee. Unless they call and are kind enough to offer.
Shit happens and Its always disappointing when ur all ready for no reason but thank goodness for the short notice ISO to get those appts filled...
Just remember we all have real life situations that come up and we both need to be understanding. More than likely if ur cool about it they may remember and tip next time or at least want to reschedule.
well goodnight hun its past my bed time ..:::Yawn Zzzzz::::

To charge for a no show or last minute cancelation has always been a hard decision. If you do it be prepared to lose the client, on the other hand if it is a common problem with the same client then you might as well charge it so they don't keep doing it to you. In my business I gave them 2 free no shows or last minute cancelations and charged on the third one or simply informed them I would no longer be able to provide professional services to them and to seek someone else to take care of them.

I'm confused. If I were to cancel with a real life plausible excuse and a provider says ,"oh, you have an emergency. Ok, just pay me 50 or a 100 and it'll be okay"....NOT EVEN. On the other hand if I am a NCNS, do you really think I'm gonna show the next time and pay a penalty....hmmm...NOT. Cancellations are understandable. I've personally only had 1 NCNS and my choice was to never contact her again. No pain, no gain...but you only have to stick your hand in the fire once....
