What if eccie added a link on our profile that when you visit a provider the provider could leave a verification comment or something of the sort so screening would be easier on everyone. Kind of like we review yall could verify.

I take security very seriously. My phone, as well as my email are both heavily encrypted and password protected with a password that has nothing to do with me, i.e. Not ny pet's name or anything like that.

Oh, and I never, ever take my phone into a meeting with a first-time client.

So does the DOD, CIA, and FBI ... "heavily" encrypt and password "protect" ...

... if the "powers to be" want to know what's on your phone, ....

....they'll get what they want.

Yes, it is possible to decrypt 1024 bit encryption with enough effort but it is pretty unlikely your local police department will be willing and able to deploy the massive computing power required. Or that they would consider this a serious enough matter to involve the CIA or FBI. I think the FBI can only be involved in interstate crimes though I am not completely certain what the criteria are.
It all does depend on what exactly the "heavily encrypted" means though.

Both my email server and phone are are 256 bit encrypted. Further, as I said It's never on my person or in my place until I'm comfortable with a client.

It's a necessity to have information stored. You'd never get a reference, and people would never answer the phone without information. Get a hobby phone or use a pay phone and get a hobby email. Utilize one or all three, but for God's sake don't use a phone or an email your SO has access to. You do realize, she can go look at all the lines you've called theough your cell carrier. Don't blame someone else for your security. And don't blame someone if you can't get a reference with no cross-referencing information.

Not my point, which was a narrow one. If a 13-year-old can crack into the DOD, CIA, and/or FBI "main frame" ... data base ... then all this "encryption" hocus-pocus" is marketing hype .. and pablum for the masses.

Now before I get a "caution" or a "ticket" ...

..... that's all I got to say on the off-topic.

Does anyone else find it very disturbing that the OP is even debating this issue ... OP, you seem to be hurting your credibility here.

If you don't know, that is exactly what you need to say so you don't set up anyone else with either LE or someone who could be dangerous.

I would think providers would have three categories

1. great guy, fun time
2. Non-discript but not an issue - just a guy
3. Do not recommend

Don't lie. Period. Any short term loss will be greatly compensated in the long run.

And yes, even 256 but encryption can be broken by the best. Just don't make yourself a target is the best bet.

I never said I intended to lie .. I'm just asking how to handle a sticky situation , and FYI since this post I've had two reference request and I told the ladies the truth ... The question was about if you know the name but cant remember much else what do you do ?

And anyone who knows me knows I would never ever do anything to jeopardize my credibility on here

From what I have taken from this is that a some at some point a request to confirm a possible meet was made of Allison from around December or January of someone she saw like once or twice with a very common name and the provider did not have a 100% yes no answer with only a first name and several months ago time frame.

I am not seeing anything to indicate that lying would be an acceptable response to reference request. The question seems to be should the response lie to make the requester happy or so no when a little more detail could provide an accurate answer
