A higher percentage of Republicans in Congress (82%) , voted for the 1964 voting rights act than Democrats (61%). Martin Luther King was a Republican. Lincoln was a Republican.

Democrat Attorney General Bobby Kennedy wired tapped MLK's phone. Democrats put MLK in jail. Democrats founded the Ku Klux Klan.
