Ok, in the interest of intellectual honesty, this video actually makes her look even more dumb.

Billing the expiration of the payroll tax reduction as a tax increase is, well, dishonest. Furthermore, pulling up footage of Obama pledging no tax increases during the 2008 campaign, and claiming he is breaking that promise is also very dishonest.

In 2008, at the time he made that pledge, payroll tax rates were identical to where they are right this minute. The payroll tax cut was enacted in 2010, 2 years after Obama made that pledge, and was never intended to be permanent. It was intended to last only one year, but was extended another year. Now, payroll taxes have returned to the same level they were at when Obama made his pledge.

Obama provides us with a wealth of bad ideas, bad decisions, and poor leadership to be criticized. We don't need to resort to distortion or exaggeration to criticize him. And if this lady is finally waking up on the basis of those distortions and exaggerations, well, that is just a sad commentary on her level of gullibility.

You'd be best to take SinsOfTheFlesh advice.

Come on, WTF, the only reason you think this is ignorant shit is because there is the President saying what he is going to do, and not do, and now is doing the very things he railed against as a Senator and a Candidate.

Look at all of the speeches the President gave, in the Senate Chamber, speaking against raising the Debt Ceiling and increasing the National Debt, and look at him now.

The fact is, President Obama is no different than any other Polititian that would be President. Once you finally get there, you find that there is a lot of difference in running for President, and being President.

I can't amagine why anybody in their right mind would want the job in the first place.

Agreed.

I'm not sticking up for Obama. My point has always been that folks think their guy will be better. That a Republican will not incur more debt or lie. I have no confidence in our political system.

Our founding fathers put together a system where every Congressman tries to spend as much as he can for his didtrict....now they bitch about the debt that has incured. I do not hold the framers in such high esteen as most do. Our political way is no longer working. Our people our weak, they want want want, yet do not want to pay for those wants.

The founders designed a system that was based on the Constitution. Every Congressman takes an oath to abide by the Constitution. We're not bankrupt because of pork barrel spending. We're bankrupt because of entitlement spending. All federal entitlement programs are unconstitutional. If every Congressman abided by his oath of office, federal entitlements would not exist and we would not be bankrupt.

You say the people are weak and they want what they want and they don't want to pay for it. You're absolutely right. Human nature hasn't changed any since the time of the founders. The people are no better or worse now than they were in 1776. The founders deliberately avoided creating a democratic form of government because they knew that if everything was put to a popular vote, the people would vote to loot the treasury. That's why they created a constitutional republic that does not allow politicians to buy votes with giveaway programs.

The country has been ruined because our politicians have no honor.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."

If you lower taxes, even if temporary, when you go back to what the tax once was, it is still a tax increase.

The idiocy is spending money like you will always have that higher take home. Sort of like the government continually spending money they do not have thinking that the populace will accept tax increase without protest. 2014 is coming around quickly and we will have another opportunity to get rid of the big spending tax them some more Democrats and the Republicans that follow suit.

The Founders expressly did NOT create a system where Congress could spend all the money they wanted, and bring bacon back to their own district. The death blow to the Constitution occurred in 1913, when the 16th and 17th amendments were adopted, and the FED created. In this particular case, the 17th amendment effectively turned us from a republic, to a democracy. Then the feeding frenzy took hold. The 16th and 17th amendments need to be repealed if we ever want a chance at being a free country again.

can you really be that clueless? Entitlements have been in the black!

Not paying for wars and Defense spending in general have gotten us to this point.

Now if you wanted to be accurate, You'd have said that entitlement spending is about to go in the red and will really throw us in the red but entitlement spending has not been the past problem, it is the future problem.

Quit being so blind to simple math.

We have not paid for our Defense spending. Period. If you do not understand that simple math fact, it is pointless to have a math conversation with you about the deficit.

How can anyone say entitlement spending has been the problem when in fact it has had a surplus? It is the future problem along with Defense spending.

Defense spending??? Have you looked at the amount of money spent on Medicare, Social Security, Medicade, Food Stamps, largess to businesses like the oil companies and Hollywood, and just interest on the debt. This year, and last year, defense was the third largest part of the budget and we were still fighting two wars. The war on poverty failed despite redistributing almost 8 trillion dollars from those who have it to those who claim they need it. The interest on the debt will soon replace the defense budget and we can reduce it if we tried but no one it seems really cares about numbers anymore.

and NO, I am not going to defend every defense dollar spent. There is waste everywhere.
