Ok ladies, tell me what you think...

I'm the type of guy who is one of those true sappy romantics. I've only ever been in one relationship in my life. Married my high school sweetheart and watched as she passed away a little of 6 years ago. I've never been in another relationship just because I've never found anyone worth my time. Now, I just really want to have an amazing time with a beautiful woman.

So, here is my question. I am planning on setting up a date when I get back home to Mississippi and I want to cook a beautiful meal and have a nice bottle of wine, some flowers, the whole nine. When this happens, which would be more romantic, cook when she arrives and get her to help? Or time it to finish just as she arrives and have the meal, wine, and candles all ready to go when she arrives??

For me, I would like to help with the cooking. Or at least watch you work your magic! It would be the perfect time for some get-to-know-you talk. When its time for dessert, you have that comfort level established. Sounds totally romantic! Lucky girl!

I would say let her help, even if its to cut something up. Always can make out during everything, have wine and flirt and build it all up. Sounds like the perfect evening!

I'm sorry about your wife, it must be a terribly difficult ordeal. I'm glad you're feeling like joining the underworld though, it can make for a fantastical good time.
I've gotta be the strange one, but having everything ready and done upon arrival would make me feel more pampered. I'd love that "whole package" effect, being the belle of the ball so to speak. (Make sure to ask about diet restrictions like allergies, dislikes and such to avoid any hangups) Candles lit, soft music playing...A great meal, a delightful bottle of wine, sitting side by side, we could chat and laugh, giggle and brush against each other while the night blossomed.
