How do you know what we will get until it happens? You don't.
Divided government is good IMHO. Well good in that one side doesn't just steam roll the other side. I think both extremes are bad. So I actually think compromise is good. I wish GW Bush had had a divided government before 2006. You right wingers almost sank the ship!

My ECCIE Reviews

Personally, I'm with ExNYer. I haven't a clue who is going to win and I've been watching closely.
I'm going to be in downtown Chicago tomorrow and with a pounding heart, going to keep a close watch on the election.
I believe that someone else had written that we might not know the REAL winner tomorrow. Might take weeks to get the final tally.
Hopefully, that's not the case. I've waited, and others have as well, long enough.
I think that plenty of people will be glad when this race is over. Even the candidates!

Romeny will be for sure, he can get back to screwing over the American taxpayer, either by resuming his job title at Bain or as the President of these un-United States!

I don't think anyone said that divided government is a wonderfully ideal situation.
It's just that it's a lot better than having one side ride roughshod over the opposing party. (And a majority of people, too, for that matter.)
As WTF noted, look what the Republicans (supposedly the "conservative" party!) did between 2003 and 2006. Spending increased at the most rapid rate since the late 1960s, and that would have been the case even without the Iraq war. And then just look at what Democrats did in 2009, resulting in the loss of 63 house seats the following year. It wasn't that voters were suddenly enamored with the Republican Party; they were simply recoiling from an obviously bad economic agenda.
The centers of mass of the parties are further apart than ever before, but voters have already decided that they want neither a progessive's dream nor a tea party utopia.
Any workable, sustainable agenda will exist far from those extremes.
However, I don't think dug-in partisans will budge until we have a political or economic crisis (or both, as is likely) that forces some type of "grand bargain."

I think Obama will win. And to be honest, If I have to make a choice between the two I would pick Obama. Rom is a business man. Plain and simple. He is one dimensional. He can't relate to any other type of classes. He's too awkward acting, I almost wonder if the big wigs planned it this way, for Obama to run against a guy that acts like a robot. Seems like it would be a sure thing. The guy with some experience vs the business man robot. Although it will be interesting. It could play out for a battle of the religious. Alot of mormons got quite a bit to do with some money and business. They got some influence. Hell, Billy Grahm even changed his stance on calling mormons a cult. Money and influence. Rom is getting nervous and is doing a last ditch effort to try to get the religious vote. If I know the game that will more than likely involve talking about how evil Obama is. As far as obama goes. His wife seems more evil than he does. Dont get me started on the vice presidents. Nothing special with either. Biden is just a ass in a seat taking up space. and I can't even remember the other guy's name. So that's how influential he is. I can't wait for this stuff to be over.

You don't know who Mitt Romney's running mate is, and that's his fault?
Since you don't know who Paul Ryan is, you probably shouldn't vote. Do everyone a favor and stay home.
Seriously, you're obviously not even making an effort.

Unfortunately, I think you're right, TTH. However, a Romney victory will only be fun on here. In the real world, it will be a disaster, too.

Ain't gonna happen! As usual StupidOldFart has taken a page out of the Richard Nixon "Plausible Deniability" playbook. No matter who wins the election, he can say I didn't vote for him. What a wuss!
