Starting this afternoon I began getting a popup for an adult dating site every time I go into a new forum in the national forum. Haven't tried my local forums yet.

I get the dating site pop-up window if:

1) I am not logged in and

2) I click on one of the 4 provider thumbnails in the "Featured ECCIE Showcases" near the top of the main page.

I guess we just have to accept it that Eccie allows those pop-up ads. I'm getting tired of them too but all I can do is boycott those companies.

I'm afraid I can't be so sanguine about it.

A lot of these pop-up ads try to install malware on computers.

ECCIE needs to cut them off at the knees.

I have pop-up blocker on my machine but I still get the pop up! And what I really want to know is how come the pop-up loads faster than the actual site? I have to click refresh about 5 times before the page will load...this has been going on for some months now (not just on this computer either). Thank for your help :-)

It seems they only appear during prime time hours.

Same problem with the ad pop-up and all pages take forever to load. Kinda funny, the mirror site is having no problems.

I have pop up blocker and this is the only pop up that's gotten through & it makes my PC drag, I got so fed up with it last night I just logged off.

Is there any way to stop these pop ups???? Its bogging down my computer like crazy! Any help is appreciated.

go to IE , tool , internet options , privacy , look for pop up blocker and settings button , make sure its on at least medium setting

What about blocking them on Google Chrome?

Thank you La stang, I checked that and it was already set to complete block, and thank you sexy Mocha

If it does it again today I'll contact someone (Greek speaking computer guys lol )and see if I'm doing something wrong.
