Eerie Similarities Part 2
Hmmm . . . Coincidence?
And one for the Republicans:
But, here is how to handle it:
http://reason.com/archives/2013/07/0...n-a-lawbreaker
Here is a quote from the above article, since you probably won't read it:
Auburn University philosopher Roderick Long points out that the principle lex iniusta non est lex— an unjust law is not a law —
was once, and indeed for over two millennia, the dominant position in western philosophy of law.… This doctrine was upheld by Socrates, Plato, and Xenophon, by the Stoics and by Cicero, by Augustine and Aquinas, and by Blackstone as well. The traditional idea was that law must be distinguished from mere force by its authority, and that nothing unjust could have genuine authority.
But we happily go along our merry way, enjoying the illusion of freedom allowed us by our rulers, and obey their unjust laws, so we can get to work, watch the game, have a beer, or whatever. We'll just let you keep taking away our freedom, bit by bit, because it's just a little more you're taking, so we'll just comply. Go along and get along is our motto.
Besides, if we're not doing anything wrong, we have nothing to fear, right?
Yeah. Right. You people are SO stupid. I've just handed you your ass before you have even posted, and you don't know it. Well, most of you. Some of you understand. The rest never will, at least not until their loved ones get carried away in chains for doing something they never knew was illegal.

Give the Tea party and conservatives credit for trying to oust people like Graham from the republican party.

And if it weren't for the Patriot Act and gun control, you'd be comparing Hitler's words to crack cocaine being illegal, income taxes, and speed limits.

Yes.
And it looks like Liz Cheney is going to go after sitting conservative Mike Enzi of Wyoming. Sen. Enzi is a conservative, but with a weakness for going along with Democrats on too many issues - he supported the Dick Durban internet sales tax legislation. AND he punted on the cloture vote for immigration and amnesty !
Whoever gets the nomination; Wyoming will stay Red. So I say run Liz, run !!!!!!

I won't go so far as to say anyone in politics has the same agenda as Hitler, just that the end result is the same.
Most of the privacy issues have been taken away because people are scared of Muslims and they want protection from the government in exchange for lack of privacy, plain and simple. And it makes sense that the majority of these people are of the non gun-toting variety that truly do not think they can defend themselves. Bear in mind, this is not meant as insult to anyone, FEAR is a very powerful emotion and anyone can understand why you would want protection if you feel you can't defend yourself.
I believe once people realize (a few more bombings) the government can't protect you by spying, and rather a smart foreign policy is the answer, most of these laws will either be suspended or not renewed.

Don't be so sure about repealing them. In 1917 they passed the Espionage Act in order to help fight the war. When the war was over there was no attempt to repeal the act. It took the Supreme Court to strike down most (not all) of the Act in 1921 three years after the end of the war.
