Arrow Man Acquitted in Killing of Escort/Prostitute...

I'm not sure how to feel about this one, honestly. The jury passed down a Not Guilty verdict in Ezekiel Gilbert's murder trial yesterday afternoon.

If we believe Gilbert's version of the facts (which was also supported by the lady's "manager" as he called himself) the escort (Lenora I. Frago) went into the home, got paid, and then left. She said that she was just there for time and that if he wanted any sex, she was going to have to leave which she did a few minutes into their session. He then shot at the vehicle as it drove away in attempt to disable it (so he claims) to retrieve his property, and in the process injured Frago, who ultimately died from her wounds a year or so later.

So is a robbery a robbery, or do both parties bear some blame for having unclean hands? Also, I wonder how fair of a trial Frago got since the prosecution had to rely upon a pimp as its star witness! Obviously the jury went with the former of the two. Regardless, just be safe out there (guys and gals alike!) and stay vigilant.

Shoot at a car as its driving away?

Isn't there that home defense law where you shoot at a guy whose invading your home, but as he's running away you're not allowed to shoot at him? I would think a similar thing would apply here.

Isn't this why review boards like this exist, you know to warn both the client and provider of not only sub-par performance but also danger? I had not heard of this case till today.

@ Savak....I am no lawyer, but I think you can shoot(outside, intruder running) if they have your property, but as soon as they relenquish(drop) your property, no more shooting can occur....again, I am no lawyer and offer no legal advice.

Joe Horn shot intruders running away in the back on his neighbors yard after 911 told him not to . Welcome to precedence being set ! I wish someone would have shot the chick that robbed me of 300 when I first started . A few more of these and nobody will pull that shit again !

robbery is robbery not matter the circumstance, unless you are stealing something back that is your own... Very few things that really piss me off, but a thief is one of them.

I don't think I would go so far as to shoot at the car, unless it was in the tens of thousand, but you will only steal from me once and you will think twice before you ever even consider stealing from someone else ever again.

Not in Texas. You can murder them in retreat. There was a big case out of Pasadena, TX a few years ago about this. Guy finds burglers in his bushes outside his home, they take off and he shoots them dead. He gets off. Texas has the purest form of the "castle doctrine".

This is correct. This is the castle doctrine.

I guess a reminder in "thief school" should be, if you steal, some crazy mofo may shoot you dead! If you are the thief, does it really matter what happens after you are dead? Thieves take note and beware!
