Default Windows 8 Sucks Ass!!!

Well I just bought a new PC with Windows 8. I have been told to buy a Mac by all computer savy friends as well as a few that are just basic users. Granted they are more expensive but you get what you pay for. Well anyway I have procrastinated simply because I did not want to take the time to learn the different operations of the Macintosh OS.

Windows 8 is totally different from any earlier version. Nothing works like the old operating systems and many of the older programs won't work either. My older version of Office won't work, and Microsoft now wants 100 bucks a year for office. I found a free word processor program that works but still do not know if my old Word documents will open with this new program. I have had to use search to find simple things like "Control Panel" and "Documents." I am getting better with this system but think it is horseshit and I just absolutely hate it.

Now I have to totally learn how to use a computer again, basically the reason I haven't bought a Mac has become reality with a PC. Never again will I buy another PC. If anybody is considering purchasing a new computer take note of this. You are gonna be lost for several days and most of your old programs are not going to work. Congratulations Apple, you just became number 1 in computer sales.

Fuck MS and Mac

I've gone the other direction...Chrome OS

...bought a Samsung Chromebook...boots in like 10 seconds...all apps and files are in the cloud...accessible from WiFi or 3G

No spinning discs...no fans...no motors

$649...with all the bells and whistles....some models start at $249

Note: This is not some POS "Netbook"....

Welcome to the future!

It will be interesting to see how they work out in the long run. I stopped using the Google Chrome browser because it is getting so much propaganda it seems to be competing with AOL. Let's see how the anti - virus works in time? Google has basically re-written the internet, if they can maintain being functional and not sacrifice everything for greed it could be the next thing. Then again "Virus" and "Mac" are two words that don't mix and they have been around for a long time.

Actually if your "tech savy" friends suggested a Mac you might as well find some new friends to give you computer knowledge. A Mac computer is not getting what you pay for. You pay a premium for a name brand that does LESS than what a PC can do. All that bullshit about viruses not being a problem on Mac OS was only true when Apple was still trying to get a foothold in the home computer market. Nowadays computer viruses are as easy to catch on any operating system that isn't Linux based. In reality you shouldn't even be getting any viruses in this day and age if you have MSE or any other free anti-virus as well as some common sense.

You can just as easily downgrade to Windows 7 which is a much better OS at this time. Always buy every other OS that Microsoft puts out. 98/XP/7 are all testaments to that rule.
