Default IPOD

Who has an IPOD and what is on it?

I have a little of everything except Classical and Country, Hip Hop, Rap or Big Band. Oh and I have a couple audio books and some Porn. Yeah, porn. Eva Angelina, and Gianna Michaels.

I love classics like Zeppelin, Floyd, Bowie, Beatles, Stones then onto Tupac, Brotha Lynch mixed with a little Machine Head, Pantera topped off with Waylon, Willie and Johnny Cash.

I love my Ipod touch and can't live without it. I have over 3000 songs on mine, everything from big bang, classical to pop and Metallica, Rob Zombie and Motorhead. My taste in music is very diverse.

No hip hop, no opera. Some of almost everything else, from roots music to classic rock, blues, country, bluegrass, alternative, and even some New Age.

Examples: Pink Floyd, Crooked Still, Mark Knopfler, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Mark Lanegan, Robert Cray, Leonard Cohen, Silver Jews, Enya.

I too have a fairly wide variety and over 3,000 tracks ( I worked at a radio station in college, so lots of freebies). This past Winter my employer sold a bunch of equipment from our newly outsourced software distro dept. I picked up a robot and a sweet Plextor drive. I spent about a month writing some scripts to automate the process. This was the second time I ripped my collection and it was ridiculously easy.

Mine mostly has a ton of podcasts and audiobooks. There's quite a bit of music on it, but it is mostly for when I have a date. I have a few playlists that I can pull up depending on the situation. There's hip-hop for when I am with a certain girl, and top 40/R&B for another. There's latin and reggaeton for when I'm in the islands. I have a party mix for just hanging out, and a romantic mix for when I'm with someone new and I don't know their personal taste.

But for me, it's almost only podcasts. Oh, and Jonathan Coulton. Love his shit.

I wish I had an Ipod and a Programmer/Operator. I have over 12,000 songs and about 1500 music videos on my PC. I burn CDs for the car but an Ipod would be much more convenient from what I hear.

I have an older IPOD classic, then bought an IPOD Touch so I could watch movies on the larger screen when travelling by air. I also have noise reduction headphones which make both music and movies easier to hear on a plane. I have about 1,200 songs that include classic rock, modern rock, soft guitar and piano music, holiday music, new age, and country. No Rap, hip hop, jazz, religious, or big orchestra music. I also have all sorts of music video and movies. Since movie files are so large, I keep most of them on my PC, and only load the ones on the IPOD that I want to watch before I leave on a trip. What a marvelous invention they are!

IPod? What's that? I still rock my CD player! LOL. I WOULD like to acquire an IPod at some point in my life though.

I remember having a transister radio when I was a kid that I thought was cool as hell. Got a walkman and that was the top of the food chain at the time. Had a cell phone with internet access and text messaging and boy was that impressive.

I don't even turn my cell phone on anymore unless I need to make a call. Got text blocking and cancelled the internet access. I'm happy with whatever is playing on the car radio. While the IPOD looks cool, I'm in the mode that less is better. I've bought so much crap electronics over the last twenty years, that I don't see the necessity anymore. One store room has shelves with receivers, amps, tuners, tape decks, speakers, playstations, that are basically worthless. BTW, my VCR that is twenty years old is still hooked up and flashes 12:00 continuously. I like nothing better than to sit down and read a good book.

I'm getting old.

The battery lasts about 10 days. I just plug it in every few days when I go to bed.
