Longhorn Network on UVERSE sounds like bad news for TWC fans
ATT Uverse subscibers received some good news yesterday morning that Longhorn network is now a part of their lineup. This most likely means that TWC subscribers will have to wait until next year or beyond for the LHN to be offered.
It seems that LHN is content with slowly adding subscribers which actually makes sense. They signed a 20 year deal with UT. Right now, there is way too many reruns of old games. It will take a few years before the programming impoves. I think if they were available to all cable companies, people would not be happy overall with the content.
I have the channel and have actually started watching UT volleyball and some women's soccer.
Part of the problem is that TWC doesn't want to pay LHN what they want with its current offerings. Sooner or later TWC will give in but it seems that it will be after another year or when someone like DirecTV is added. LHN is going the slow route by going with carries like Grande, UVerse, etc

The LHN sounded like such a great idea but has turned into a big Crock of Shit. We live in Austin but if want to see the games we have to go to Hooters or move to San Marcos.

Or get off your ass and go to the game...
May have to give it another season, but eventually TWC will come around.

It cost A LOT of money to go to UT games nowadays. I'd rather spend that money with one our beautiful providers and watch the game on TV. Call me lazy, I guess.

To each his own I suppose. Granted I'd always like the option of watching at home, but to complain about not being able to see a game that is local, when you could get a really cheap ticket (I gave away some of mine and people were selling them for $10-20 at the stadium) is silly. It's not a budget issue for me, so I guess I have a different point of view.

How does LHN work? Is it another "free" channel with your subscription or is it an extra charge option such as HBO?

It was free with my subscription.
There was nothing quite as exciting as watching the Lady Longhorns face Toledo in soccer Friday at lunch.
After all the hoopla, I'm afraid this is going to be just another station I only watch when I have to.
Geez! Texas vs. Wyoming felt like it started 4 hours before kickoff and ended 4 hours after.
Oh well. Now I don't have to watch their next thrilling game with New Mexico on my iphone.

If I were a UT supporter, I'd let them know that they could count on losing my financial support if the games weren't available on broadcast TV.
Colleges are getting to be like "Lava Lava Lennie" from Doonesbury. There's a college attached to the football program, but it's sort of an afterthought.

Why in the fuck do people still support tv networks? I have never had satellite or cable tv in my adult life, except for a six month period where I wasnt paying for it. I have better things to do than watch tv all day, not to mention better ways to throw money away. I cant relate to how other people look at their tv as a life or death necessity.
The internet provides more than enough information and you can interact with people too, so fuck the networks, fuck dish, fuck directv, fuck the cable companies, fuck their advertisers, fuck the overpaid celebrities.

Why don't you tell us how you REALLY feel? LOL.
To each his or her own. I'm switching from TWC to Dish this week. Certainly not life or death but definitely something I would not do without, given the option. Love sitting in my man cave with a drink and watching sports and other entertainment on a 65" TV.

Anyone one know of a Austin club with LHN? Nothing better than watching the game with some scenery walking around.
Thanks in advance.
