Default Ratio of busted Johns to Busted Providers

I was wondering if anyone knew who gets busted by LE more often. I suspect its the providers but I was just curious

Your suspicions are way off. But the actual results are skewed I believe.

First off, if you go look at arrest for prostitutions in the DFW area, and look at different cities in the area, what you will find is most of the arrest are males. Now, let me try to breakdown what I think is going on.

1. Most of these arrest are streetwalker crimes. When you look at the mugshots, these people are not the kind of people who are advertising on ECCIE in cases where they are female arrest. If the males in the mugshots showed up at a ECCIE provider's front door, she would refuse entry. I doubt many of the ladies here, even if they have only been here a week after migrating over from BP are going to let some of these characters in.

2. Sure, there are usually a handful of females sprinkled in with the males, but mostly males.

3. LE is running stings in high traffic areas for streetwalkers to try to reduce these visible crimes. By running a sting operation on johns, they hope to remove the market and incentive for ladies to ply their trade in that LE's backyard.

4. Lot of these cases involve homeless people I believe. I am basing that on the mugshots, and how unkempt the people look. I know that when you see the mugshots of some celebrity picked up on a DWI, they always look like hell. But trust me, those are glamour shots compared to these streetwalkers & johns.

5. The arrest reports you see with mugshots are usually not very descriptive, don't know much about the who, what, when, where, although sometimes they give an approximate location and I bet many of you guys who ride the streetwalker circuit will recognize the locations as high streetwalker activity areas.

6. In a lot of cases, I think LE is running stings on male prostitution. I may be wrong, but just based on the occassional reports that surface where cops are picking up guys in a park, I think there may be a significnt effort to bust guys who are picking up male prostitutes. Is this area of prostitution that much more prevalent? Don't know. But since it frequently involves runaways, involves gay sex, it is even more revolting to people of high moral standards and LE may target it.

Recognize that LE must respond to the whims of the communities they protect. In the eyes of Joe & Jane Q. Public, visible crimes are where the emphasis should be placed. Streetwalkers, male prostitution in roadside parks, and places with flashy signs (AMPs, strip clubs, jack shacks, etc.) are visible signs of criminal activity. Couple that with the illegal drug trafficking that so often accompanies these areas, especially the streetwalkers, and LE can get a two for the price of one bust while making their constituents feel they live in a safer world.

Frequently, when you see an internet provider (ECCIE, BP, etc.) busted, they have made a nuisance of themselves. High traffic, noise, or some other issue gets the attention of neighbors, patrol officers, etc. and LE starts sniffing around.
