I do as well.
It is interesting that that particular group who preaches tolerance towards them yet they are quite intolerant of others who disagree with them. The hypocrisy is obvious and blatant.

There are extremist assholes that are very vocal EVERYWHERE. Both liberal and conservative. Most people really don't care. It's only an issue because we keep talking about it.

I think it's wrong to make a decision that's going to affect their workers and their business in general. Aside from that, their chicken is nasty!

Agreed. I honestly don't give a crap if gays get married. I'm all for love and it doesn't matter who's doing it. Plus I'm bisexual so I'm going to hell anyways. They can talk about it all they want. The only thing that pissed me off is that they are using the money that we are giving them to fund campaigns to stop gays from getting married. I don't get that. Why are they wasting so much time and money on that when there are bigger things like children being killed or going hungry. My friend said the perfect example. "Don't ask me not to eat a donut just because you're on a diet". You can't force everyone to follow YOUR Bible. We are not all Christian. Everyone needs to be tolerant and loving. As long as you're not hurting others then it's no one's business.

The left wing Media needed another Distraction to keep us looking away from the failures that are so evident. Mainly the economy. It is so sad that this history making President has such bad historic choices that effect our daily lives. Such high HOPEs with the promises of CHANGE, yet now all we can do is hope for change and a realignment of the Nation before we all slip by way of Europe.
Chick Fil A, well like those of us small business owners and all those American that I took 2 bullets for during my services {many a year ago} THEY HAVE THEIR RIGHT TO SPEAK THEIR MIND, THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE AND THEY HAVE SOME DAMM GOOD FOOD.
A black NFL Line Backer, Justin Durant is so hooked on Chick-fil-A that he'd still eat its sandwiches even if the embattled company was pro-slavery.
AMEN

The beauty of Freedom:
Business man is Free to say whatever pops into his head;
I am Free to disagree and maybe even take offense;
I am Free to gather up people that agree with me;
We are Free to decide business man is an asshole and lets not patronize his business;
Business man is Free to bear the consequences of his actions/words;
And everyone is Free to decide the fairness of what just happened;
Who said, "You can't have your cake and eat it too?" - seems too apt here.

But everyone doesn't feel that way. Change a few words around:
"Don't ask me to accept gay marriage just because you're gay. You can't force everyone to accept that you're gay. We are not all gay. Everyone doesn't need to be tolerant and loving. As long as you're flaunting it, then it's every one's business!
And that is the problem. Gays are always in your face, whinnig and complaining about just everything. I have friends and relatives that are gay, and I am not racist, but I am just tired about all the special rights they keep demanding. Remember gay is not a race, it is a sexual preference.

It is my understanding that Chik fil e didnt seek this controversy. The CEO was asked by a reporter for a Christian publication about his view of marriage. He simply answered that he believed in the Biblical definition that it was between one man and one woman. (A predictable answer for the setting). It was the Left Wing media who took this statement, stirred the pot, and earned millions for an already great Food Franchise. I wouldn't be surprised to see more businesses "volunteer" this position in the future.

Being gay should not endow anyone with special rights. However, any rational and fair look would make you realize that there are many people who oppose them for religious and personal reasons that want to limit their rights. I have no problem with them demanding equal rights. That includes not having to hide in public. While I do not share their preference as long as I have the right to show affection, within reason, to a woman in public I cannot criticize anyone else for doing so with a person they like. I think they should not make a big deal out of marriage since all it is is a civil union and they are arguing over terminology. I have a hard time being upset with their core desire since I do not blame them for it. If you throw out the idiot fringe elements that try to create drama the core desire they have is legitimate.
As for being gay is a sexual preference I think that goes back to they choose to be gay. They claim that is not the case and I tend to agree with them because I never made a conscious choice to like women. I simply like women and everything about their bodies. I cannot change that and choose to like men. If that is true for me then I have to accept what they are saying is also true. That means that you should accept they are different and be tolerant. You don't have to agree with it or support it but you should not act as if it makes them less than equal.

Perfectly said, Laz. I'm not telling people to accept gay people. I'm just saying it shouldn't be an issue. Equal rights are not special rights. Why do you care of they are getting married? It's not like it's sending you to hell. You're denying equal rights to someone who has different views and different lifestyles. I don't see why we need to get in their business. So what of they want to get married? It's not hurting anyone.

Ok, I didn't get to finish what I had to say. I was running errands. For the person who said you should have the freedom to deny service to whomever you want..how is that fair? You have the freedom to deny others their rights? Does this include african americans and women? Because I know we had to fight for our EQUAL rights. I do not understand intolerance. Just because YOU don't like something you think it's ok to deny other EQUAL rights? So take away their freedom because you don't like it? Why does gays getting married bother everyone so much. I'm pretty sure it's not hurting you. So you say it's ok to deny and limit their rights. So I'm assuming you thought it was perfectly ok to deny women and african americans their rights too? This same intolerance made it hard for african americans to have equal rights and even women. So I do not think it's ok to deny people service just because you don't like them. Their marriage and love shouldn't hurt you. You're the ones getting all hyped up when there are more important things in the world. This should not even be an issue. Forgive me if I'm getting irritated. I've already lost several friends over this and I am truly saddened at the intolerance that is being spread. African Americans and women went through the same thing. We had to fight for EQUAL rights not special rights. This subject needs to be dropped already. I have said my piece and I will not say anymore. Not because I'm afraid to argue but because I cannot understand why you're wasting so much time on something so stupid. It's not hurting anyone. So no..service should not be denied to anyone based on gender, sexual preference, race, or their lifestyle. Rights should not be denied or limited simply because YOU don't like someone. Learn to be loving and accepting. It's not our place to judge. As long as they aren't hurting someone then there shouldn't be an issue. I'm not forcing you to accept gays. I'm telling you to turn the other way if you don't like it. Only you are making it a problem. I'm leaving this subject and personally I really hope this thread is closed because this thread is disrespectful and it really hurts to see so many people hateful and filled with intolerance. I know we have gay members on our board and this thread will eventually become "we hate gays" just like I've seen so many other posts from other websites. My heart is aching because of this. I really wish it wasn't brought up.
