Isn't it funny that NONE on these "Gubmint is too big" whiners ever complains about the Department of Defense while the other agencies don't even appear on the linked chart.
'Member, you ain't an Amerucun if you don't support the troops (by never questioning a single dime spent by the DOD)!
LMAO at the tiny-minded Republicans!

As a "card-carrying" "gubmint is too big" whiner, I think the Defense Department budget is way too large, and they try to do too much. One-third of the budget is waste, and another one-third is unnecessary. (That's just an estimate. But I bet it's close.)
I think we could have a leaner, stronger, more focused defense for much less money. We just have to get the defense contractors and oil industry out of the war making decisions.

Again our libs know the specifics about the communist Chinese military. Here's another source for the same story. Note that the PRC isn't listed as a source and the article even states specifically that the actual number of the PLA and it's employees is "unknowable".
Curiously, a quick google search for the years prior to the POSITOO does not include the military in the list, only companies. Wonder how much it's changed since the POSITOO took office?

Again, you miss the point.
We have a bloated industrial military complex.
There is a group of folks on here and at Tea Rallies that call for smaller government...yet they have no clue as to wtf the biggest expenditure and which department employees the most people.

I complain all the time how foreign aid is laundered through the DOD. Or I should say DOD money is turned into foreign aid money. Either way we are getting fucked.

You can spin it any way you want. The reality is that it a part of teh federal government and the federal government is too big.
It should not be difficult to understand.

I've never been part of the Tea Party. Well, back in the beginning it looked pretty good, but it got taken over by the Republicans, so I lost interest. And I have never hidden the fact that I think the defense department as it is, is corrupt, bloated and mismanaged. Stevie, you need to pay better attention.

COG, you think the DOD is the ONLY government agency that is corrup0t?
Our whole government system is corrupt.
As far as the Tea Party being taken over by Republicans, you are insidious to the problem. The idea of all or none is what has hampered the Libertarians efforts for years.
The TEA party is the best vehicle for making inroads by Libertarians into government that we have ever had.
Giving up is giving in and the status quo remains.
I would much rather get a Republican elected that leans to the Libertarian side than to split votes and let another socialist win.
The pressure needs to be applied and the next candidate should lean more libertarian.
Sooner or later we will have enough support that things will change in increments to the side of real liberty.
