Providers with two phones... why?!
First, I understand one phone is usually a personal line and the other is for hobbies and such... so this post is more tongue-in-cheek than anything else (though it might be informative for providers who aren't aware of what I'm about to "reveal")...
Google Voice!
Considering they let you choose your area code, number, when it's on/off, text you transcripts of voicemails if you so choose, along with the ability to change your number as much as you see fit while at the same time letting you receive and make calls on your "virtual" telephone from your real one (over the data connection), it's hard to see why anyone wouldn't have it! Yes, that was a run-on sentence, no, I don't care. I have one for my work and it simplifies the hell out of life in general, to the point that I feel sorry for my counterparts who carry around a work phone and personal phone... Though as a guy, that isn't easy.. Girls have the luxury of purses so I guess it isn't as bad (though I guess if they really wanted to, guys could go Euro and carry a man-bag... or not).
Anyway, I'm done with my random and completely pointless monologue. Thoughts?

I used to use Google Voice, switched to TracPhone - here's why:
First, on my personal cell (and this may not be true for all phones) when I got a call from someone calling through my google voice #, the number would not show up, it would just say "Google Voice" as the caller - pretty annoying if I'm trying to avoid a certian caller, and also possibly dangerous
Also, it was difficult for me to call someone back on my GV #, sometimes it would show up as me calling from my GV number but more then once it showed up as my actual number. Again, could possibly be due to my phone and no fault of GV, but what girl in her right mind would take such a risk?
Last but far from least: Google. Google's privacy standards are ludricious. On GV, they save a transcript of every phone call, text, and voicemail? You think that's just for your eyes only? Far, far from it. Google saves and records everything done on any of its products (just like Facebook and Apple), mostly for advertising reasons but the personal privacy standards for individual customers are so lax that it weakens the overall system.
Google - and GV - could also very easily go the style of Facebook in that one day you wake up and information is open and viewable on your profile due to a "system update" that you did not actually want anyone to see...if you look at their beta tools, you'll see that's EXACTLY where things are headed.
Also, the only reason companies like Apple, Google, or Facebook can get away with storing, using, and publicly displaying this much info about people is because the technology they've created "stalks" mass amounts of users more effectively than any current openly used government technologies and they (the companies) make this somewhat unfairly gained personal info readily available to any government agency. Trust me, if any of these companies was collecting and profiting off of this much info and not letting the police, etc have it at the drop of a hat, they would be sued and barred for these actions.
So yea, sorry for the rant but long story short is do not use Google Voice, Android phones (google-powered), Facebook, Gmail, Google calendar, Apple products, etc in ANY of your hobbying business. Its only a matter of time...use as many small under the radar email and phone providers as you can and keep anything else in simple pen and paper.

Sometimes
It is best to keep things separate. Having two phones makes it clear when you are getting a client vs a RL call. Google voice isn't very practical. You have to announce your name when making an incoming call. It can be awkward.

GV and anything controlled by Google/Android is easily monitored and accessed by the FBI and other LE. It is a very simple wiretap type warrant for them to aquire and so easy to monitor your calls, messages, and location via the same google warrant. Why make things easy for LE? They look for easy all the time. This guy was far from a good guy, but the posting goes to show you how easy it is to go around anything web related. Lets not forget the 12yr old with a laptop who can crack ur gmail account in 9 minutes while spanking ur ass at COD 4 and jerking off to the sears catalog at the same time.
Ur not paranoid if u end up being right... you were just "aware".

I don't care too much about the google. Voice debate. Its good for none hobby use and convient but I wouldn't suggest ladies rely on it for hobby use.
Now as far as ladies having two phone availiable I fully support that especially if she is popular. Nothings worse than trying to see a provider you have seen before and getting a full voiemail message or noquick access for her to answer her call due to overload of messages from possible clients. Especially also at times within the hour of the booking time when you are trying to confirm whether she will be ready on time or not.
I kinda like it when ladies have a separate phone after you are screened or when they have seen you beforfore that they can actually get to in a reasonable amount of time. Some of my favorites did this and it made setting up and appointment fast and convient. I really think touring providers should look into this especially when they are traveling to areas where they have semi regular guys who always would like to see them when they come to their cities.

This was the funniest thing I've heard all night... Alright, my eyes have been opened - don't do anything on GV that you want traced back to you... "Burn phones" paid for with cash are still the best ways of staying off the grid. Good to know.
