Default Best golf course in your opinion...

Hey guys,

I'm a huge golfer and have been playing for a limited time and I'm wondering what courses you like to play. I play Brack and Olmos quite a bit and love The Quarry (esp b/c of the bev cart girls)...has anyone played the new PGA?

Well newcummer I have had the opportunity to play both courses at the TPC San Antonio. Personally I enjoyed the Oaks course designed by Norman better and let me tell you once the Texas Open starts out there the touring pros are in for a treat. No more 20 something under par wins like out at LaCantera. I am a member of a quaint little club off of Fredricksburg road where they play the Sr. open and just love the course.

Live within cycling (or a good walking) distance of the main buildings. Have not played; however, listening to others who have enjoyed the course - hear nothing but praise. Excellent food and libations available and my favorite is the High Velocity Sports Bar. Its a great place to meet, greet, drink, eat and watch sports.

I'd play more golf if I had more balls!

I like the Republic and Silverhorn for SA courses and Tapatio Springs in Boerne.

I 2nd the Republic. That is one sweet course. Of course, if you ever get invited to play at Oak Hills, don't turn it down.

I'll put in my vote for Cedar Creek and Silverhorn, probably the two courses i play most often. The quarry is also a nice course, have not been there in a while though.

I forgot to mention Pecan Valley. Nice public course. If we go private Canyon Springs is nice too.

Oak Hills is a sweet course and just so much fun to play. I myself gravitate to the old school designed courses and if I am going to play a public course then as Rakhir said Pecan Valley is hard to beat.

I heard Tapatio is going bankrupt...

I played the Quarry today...have to say, I'm disappointed in the bev cart girl and the fact that I saw her once and the first time wasn't till the 7th hole. Play was fast today so that was good.

I have only played Pecan once but really enjoyed it. Very nice.

Anyone play the Bandit?

Tapatio was in some financial difficulty but the last I hear was that they may have resolved the issues. And the Bandit is a nice and somewhat challenging course. Lots of fun to play.

I love Oak Hills as well, I geuss in need to play the quarry have heard great things about it, and it sounds like the bev girls are a bonus.

I'd have to agree with Cedar Creek, Pecan Valley.... I've played Olmos, Brack and even use to go to Seguin to play @ Chapparral( they use to have a coupon in the sunday paper).
