Baton Rouge sucks, to be honest. I'd much rather play in Nola, but the vax mandate ruined that. Most people like the casino LaBeurge, believe that's how it's spelled, but it's in St.Gabriel so kinda out there if you are looking for easy access. Wouldn't recommend walking around anywhere at night, especially downtown.

Perkins is one of the best hot spots for bars and restaurants, shopping on Perkins Rowe. Crawfish are back too, so that's a plus! Not really much to do except the parades, which is another issue when it comes to playing. Better check the routes before you pick a hotel.

The Baton Rouge Marriott is newly updated. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Hotels in NOLA are not enforcing proof of vaccine and many restaurants are not either. In Metairie, Jefferson Parish, there is no mandatory vaccine policies for restaurant, bars and hotels.

I have been going out to hotels and restaurants at least once a week since the pandemic started and only had to show proof of vaccine once.
It is really not very strictly enforced.

Baton Rouge is what you make it. Good hotels off I-10 Bluebonnet exit. Good food all over. Check 225 magazine website for things going on over the weekend. Live music is coming back so just check around according to what you want to do.

Oh wow, good to know because I heard from hurricane workers who were sent back because they didn't have it.

I had an overnight last night in New Orleans and we went out to dinner . The place where I dined asked for a vaccination card and last month I was out on another dinner date they asked for my ID and vaccination card as well. The higher end restaurants are definitely asking . I would hate anyone to make plans and be bummed because of misinformation.

Well, I have had bars ask for IDs and vaccination proof in NOLA. No hotels have done it and I only use 4 and 5 star hotels. I admit the vast majority of my restaurant visits have been in Metairie, where there is no mandatory vaccinations AFAIK. It is probably best to check with the restaurants or hotels before you go if they require proof of vaccinations.

Drive down Essen during rush hour. It's pretty much the most excitement you'll find here.

Thank you for the vax info. Haha at the Essen rush hour comment!

I just hate BR. I live in St Amant, but due to my situation I obviously can't entertain from home.

It's not the BR guys that are an issue. It's the cesspool of trash the city has become.

Nikki, what is Jefferson area, exactly? I'm familiar with Jefferson Highway, not the location of actual Jefferson. I got Kenner and Gretna who I Googled it.
