The cost and value of health care are a joke in this country.

Only real solution is a single payer system with a private option. Keep the drug companies and hospital systems in line, pay doctors and other providers according to their contribution to the health care delivery system and eliminate the obscene price gouging that only really happens here.

Those of you who are petrified by the very thought of socialized medicine can continue to pay through your noses. Those who aren’t will be covered.

Unless … this thread is about y’all gang banging a fellow poster and naught else.

Texas passed a law regarding surprise balance billing - one source of medical billing abuse (IMHO) - it applies to only 16% of Texans - but is a start.

Another - stand alone "ER" doc in teh box businesses - utilize overcharging and balance billing for pecuniary reasons.

if you choose to patronize a 'doc in the box' - carefully check your financial obligations FIRST.

They make Urgent Care clinics....triage your non-life threatening injuries for a fraction of the price.

Who's fault is it if you're a moron and can't figure this out so you get gouged paying for services? Do you know why ER is so expensive? The majority of people DO NOT HAVE COVERAGE so that hospital is just eating the bill. Look at those people going to the ER....its for UTIs, stomach aches, fevers.....calling 911 so they can get a 'free' ambulance ride uptown to the ED, where they walk out and go to the store.
