coolest Politician ever.. original founding Member of SNCC, shot during the 1977 Hanafi Muslim take over of several D.C. buildings, while on the City Council, while he was held hostage for several hours.. Mayor of D.C. from 1979-1991, and again from 1995-99. in between he was back on the City Council.

Barry was quite the train wreck but go voted back into office after his prison sentence only to get pulled over again with drugs in his car. Then he got into more hot water because he didn’t file taxes for several years. His son died of an overdose in 2016.
