One item is a fluke, two an anomoly, but dozens of examples over decades is not just a pattern it is a PLAN.

When both parties pass laws that result in expanding power to the incoming legislatures/administrations, one has to wonder if they, both parties, are truly working together. The Patriot Act is a prime example of a law that was fought against by the same people who are extending it's powers right now.

In this article the author goes through the essential rules of tyranny. Keep in mind that I don't believe any one of the two parties in the US are tyranical individually, however both parties combined...

You may disagree with the article, some of it is compelling, some not. I know the typical response to this thread will be to attack the messenger, but I will ask that you rebut the article rather than attack the posters, please.

7. Cynicism Is The Path To Defeat
8. True Authority Is Derived From Respect That Is Earned, Not Bought, Or Taken
9. Take It Personally
10. You Are The First And Last Line Of Defense

The idea that there are hundreds of individuals with visions of destroying our country, when our own congress can do nothing because of gridlock, is a farce of major league proportions. Stalin and Lenin didn't agree on anything.
This is not an instance of attacking the messenger. This messenger, supposedly of sound mind, has chosen to present this version of his own personal take on our political situation. These supposed opposite viewpoints come from the same twisted wingnut point of view.
This board is not for messengers. It for individuals expressing their opinions. You post, you express.

Munch I think you missed it. I didn't write the articles, I just linked to them and requested feedback. I know that the left was yelling tyranny during the last administration, especially during the "debates" before the Patriot Act was passed and during the run-up to the two wars. You questioned my sanity and threw out insults instead of being objective and debating the article written by someone else.

Your response shows that your ideology dictates your inability to be objective nor can you be a part of the "tolerant" left. If you can't debate without attacking, maybe you should began introspection.

Typical. You want me to stop eating cheeseburgers because you can’t stop eating them after I have processed them. I take all the health risks, remove all the fat, protein, cholesterol, etc. and you get some of the purest shit to eat you’ve ever had.
