Default So this is the pressing issue we're spending money to prosecute... Online Poker?

US based accounts are not allowed to sit at real money tables, since they froze accounts of processing companies, no way to cash out the money I've got in there for now.

I guess that's one way to make a few billion. Not that I agree with what was done to circumvent the law, but what do they expect when they criminalize moral issues?

Anyway, anybody in the same situation? I've got a few Gs sunk.

I've always wondered why poker and other card games are considered gambling and bingo is not.Bingo follows the same structure... it is a game of chance where one spends money playing against the odds to win even more money.

I would guess you will never see it. I have had issues in the past with Full Tilt. I won a paid seat 10k to the big game on their site and they never made good on it. I am guessing that all the cheating and not paying off was a big driver in outlawing the sites. Nevertheless, more government control is what we all need, right?

Damn!!!!! So what is the deal? I have a Full Tilt account, I don't have that much in there like you but still a couple hundreds. I didn't see Bodog mention in there, will that happen to Bodog as well? Bodog is where I do most of my gambling.

Bullshit moral legislation. No difference. Same with government sanctionied gambling - lottery.

That sucks that happened to you. I've never had problems cashing out, and I've cashed out close to 6 figures over the years. I doubt that there is much cheating going on by the sites, it would make no business sense to do that and lose players from all over the world. Keeping a clean reputation would draw more players, and that makes them a lot more money in the long run. I've had to do some work on one of the smaller sites' servers a few years back, and it was ridiculous how much money they were making from that one server per hour. Sure, they can generate a little more money by cheating, but word gets around, and there are plenty of choices to go somewhere else.

As for the balance in there, it would be in their interest to pay that out so their reputation doesn't get tarnished internationally. It's not really the sites that are refusing to pay out even now, it's that their ways of paying out have been taken out from under them.

Money laundering charges, interpol involved, FBI involved, a few accounts frozen. Looks like they went after the big players, I'm not sure if Bodog and the smaller sites are safe at this point. Sooner or later, this will ripple to the smaller sites and they will shut down US players, or DoJ will go after the smaller sites as well.

No doubt there are cheaters...

The fact that FT caught them and returned your money says that FullTilt has a stake in their reputation being good, rather than promoting that kind of behavior.
