At least the adult sections are...message on the site says government forced them to take adult content down. Btw...they list 'pressure on credit card companies' as a reason. That same pressure could affect this site.

I rarely used bp....but once in awhile when i did,I found some great clients from it
I know that in some towns,like Springfield & Columbia,backpage was a major revenue for escorts

I've talked to a couple of folks freaking out about this one. This happens from time to time, folks forget Craigslist went down not too long ago. Somewhere else will pick up the slack, too much click revenue in it.

Then instead of a BP girl, maybe we can call them ebay girls, lol.

It is a reminder for all of us though, that not everyone, and the powers that be include it, look kindly on the hobby. So... be careful.

I wonder what site will jump in this time... I agree with Gemma, if you're on ECCIE, you just got an advantage. Of course ECCIE needs to bump up its game to let folks know to come here. But that's another concern.

For those of you suggesting Eccie as an alternative, what makes you think Eccie isn't the next target? After all, several online services have been shut down by legal actions. Some client/reviewers have even been charged in those actions. Eccie offers no security as far as I can tell...

They weren't shut down by criminal action. Rather, the banks that back credit cards were squeezed into not processing BP advertising transactions.

One differentiating factor is that around 5 years ago, Eccie quit allowing rates in ads...and put the showcases that do show rates in a member only section.

This has appeased the banks...for now.

Just a reminder because this was already mentioned in another thread, but most of the backpage ads have just relocated to the dating section under women > men. Similarly, the AMP and similar ads are under the massage section.
