Default Thumpers Being Thumpers

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/ala...cid=spartanntp

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore was removed from the bench Friday for defying the U.S. Supreme Court on gay marriage, more than a decade after he was ousted for disobeying a federal order to take down a 2 ½-ton monument to the Ten Commandments.

The judiciary court ruled that Moore defied law already clearly settled by the high court's Obergefell vs. Hodges ruling when he told Alabama's probate judges six months later that they were still bound by a 2015 state court order to deny marriage licenses to gays and lesbians.
"Beyond question, at the time he issued the January 6, 2016, order, Chief Justice Roy Moore knew about Obergefell and its clear holding that the United States Constitution protects the right of same-sex couples to marry," the court wrote in the unanimous decision.
....
"My parting words are good riddance to the Ayatollah of Alabama"

I really wonder why some Thumpers refuse to see that they really are kindred spirits with some of the Ayatollahs

I'm willing to admit when they toss gays off buildings, it doesn't bother me that much, so for that limited area, I'm willing to admit I can see their point of view, but I really don't think that rises to the level of a kindred spirit.

theres a problem with that ruling.

they didn't have the votes to remove Judge Moore from office, yet they suspended him without pay for 3 years and removed him from office. they cannot do both.

Judge Moore is appealing that decision.

Yes he is. My understanding is the vote to suspend was unanimous, the vote to remove was not.

Either way, a judge who believes his moral value system allows him to ignore the SC decisions shouldn't be on the bench. In either direction.
