Default Fuck Bill Gates! I'm getting a Mac.

I was typing a really important thread reply (at least in my mind) when Windows decided it was time to update itself. Started a shutdown and reboot right in the middle of my typing. Nothing I could do to stop it and, of course, my reply was lost and I had to retype it after the reboot. Grrrr!

Default BooBoos PC

I use both Mac and PC depending on the job. For email, media design, spreadsheets, and the occasional browsing online, I use one of several Macs around the house. They work great! No updates without my approval and no viruses!

I use my PC to prop my garage door open just enough for BooBoo the dog to get in and out during the day. It works great! No updates needed. No viruses. And when it's raining, BooBoo can pee on it using it as a target when he lifts his leg.

BooBoo really likes his PC.

I love my Mac. And yes, when you need an update you have to approve it. You can have it remind you an hour later or next day. I normally hit the next day for weeks until my Mac gets real slow and frustrates the hell out of me. So before I throw Mr. Mac out of my 3rd floor apt balcony. I'll take a few minutes and update it.

Good Luck.
P.S. Glad BooBoo enjoys his PC.

So Bil Gate is going to lose you as a customer because you're pc-retarded? Seems legit.

I bought my first mac in October of 2011. It was a mac book pro. I'm typing this on it right now. I have had zero issues. A pc laptop would previously last me about a year before they start to act up with some kind of hardware issue, and utterly fail within two years. That is what I think the biggest difference between the two philosophies- Apple is downright obsessed with designing the hell out of their hardware. My mac book was made from a piece of milled aluminum not some cheap plastic. One of the things that you could always count on breaking first on a PC laptop is where the power pin connects to the motherboard. For almost the past 10 years Apple makes their MacBooks with a magsafe power connecter so that is almost a physical impossibility. You're telling me in 10 years that all of the different pc manufacturers couldn't devise their own version of this? PC designers have been lazy for a loooong time. Now they don't do everything and they are certainly not perfect but they are by far a more thoughtfully designed precisely built piece of equipment.

In the interest of full disclosure and to keep any windows fanboys off my back - Last summer I broke down and built my own pc. I wanted a custom media server with tons of storage and a windows machine is the only sensible solution. So there.

My iMac is going on 8 years old and runs just as well as it did when I first bought it.

Why give up on either? My iMac runs MacOS and Windows 10 both...

I use my windows desktop and laptop for general purpose stuff, my linux laptop for secure stuff and my android tablet for out and about.

I have never lost data due to an update because I told my pc to let me choose what to install.

WIndows and Servers give me steady paycheck. I deal with POS machines still running Windows 98 to Windows XP Pro.

You can run Linux on two to 5 year old machine. I got 5 Android tablets to numerous things that I do on laptops but easier.

Can't make something that someone holds patents to you know. I really want to get off into this whole comment but people still don't get it, Apple = Training wheels playing it safe and PC = no limits survival of the fittest.
