Default Ding! Dong! Part of the NSA Patriot Act is dead!

For those of you watching the MSM the Patriot Act is not dead, just certain provisions having to do with archiving telephone, email, and message calls to servers in Utah. This was not part of the original act. According to the author Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, the telecommunications portion of the act was for calls going to or from foreign sources or by non-Americans residing inside the U.S. Never Americans talking to each other. This was not about the passage of the act but how the act has been used by the Obama administration primarily. Since Bush left we have no idea if he would have called the NSA off but we can assume that he would. Obama didn't call them off and has defended their actions.

Of course, they could go back to the drawing board, put in the proper protections and oversight, and do their damn job.

It's dead, but it's not dead. This is definitely a JD idiot thread.

We can assume Bush would have called off the NSA? I think that qualifies as a totally unfounded speculation. Not sure why you think Cheney soul have allowed that?

Right. We should "ASSume" that Bush would have called it off. It's not like he is the one who originally signed it into law or anything.

How fucking stupid are you JD?

Don't believe for a second that just because the NSA Data Mining law expired, the Obama Administrative State has stopped with their spying.

They have proved time and time again, they don't give a shit about what a law, court, or judge says.

For example; just recently, DHS ignored court orders to stop granting amnesty to illegals. Team Obama lied to the courts about their intentions - promising to stop, but all the while continuing to give amnesty and hide it from the courts.
