Default Extreme Metal/Hardcore/Hardcore Punk

I dont post a whole lot on here, but a common theme I sensed among the general population is most of you listen to pretty much the same stuff. Its music that is heard on commercials, or is used to sell old white guys a dream of being in a blues band.

Do any of you listen to anything like whats listed in the subject line? Sorry, AC/DC does not fall in this category. Neither does anything Metallica has put out.

Howver, anything in the NWOBHM family plays.

Bands to reference:
-Venom
-Sodom
-Bolt Thrower
-Hatebreed
-Leatherface

Anyhow, if you listen to anything close to this post some shit up. I am anxious to see what total strangers can possibly turn me on to.

Metalocalypse. Hilarious!! Love that show on adult swim lol.

Tuesday Night at the Mini Bar 3810 Broadway. Think is Punk, but more on the eccentric end of Punk. Talked to a band member. He said they are not Garage Punk like on their flyer, but it is still Punk none-the-less.

Think it's the old Newstand bar in midtown.

The only bands I listen to that come remotely close to the bands the OP listed are Tomahawk and Fantomas (both feature Mike Patton on vocals). Here is a favorite Tomahawk track:

I was just coming back to post in this thread.

Not a fan of anything Mike Patton has ever done. Fans of music he does tend to go one way or the other. I have never met an ambivalent fan of his music.

However, thanks for participating.

There was a band called Discharge that was formed in the early 80's that years later would spawn a whole sub-genre of hardcore punk called D-Beat. D-Beat refers to the style of drumming. Not quite as rudimentary as punk, but not quote full on thrash.

Discharge:

Here is the lineage of Minibar from when I used to live in Midtown:

-BJ's
-Lava Room
-Lava Room v2.0
-Gusto
-Minibar

The Newsroom, formerly Kenny's Newsroom, is now The Black and Gold Tavern and the room in the back where they have bands is called Vandals.

I refuse to let this thread fade into oblivion, so here goes nothing:

Lets start with Bonecrusher. Cali band that puts the rock in punk rock in a big way. Some of their stuff leans on the hardcore side, but they get down with a sweet hook and huge riffs from time to time.

This should lead you down the youtube rabbit hole to find more stuff.
