Rates and drama

Rates seems to be a leading cause of drama rumors and overall tension between hobbyist and providers in our area. Obviously none of us will never agree on rates as the service provided is not a tangible item however I think it would be interesting to see both sides and some of the reasoning as to rates are set and why some feel the need to negotiate.
As I'm starting the thread, I think its fair to say, certain people have accused me and a couple others of being cheap. First off, I will say as many others have probably said before I don't have to hobby, I do so because I like variety. I also never attempt to negotiate price, for anyone who pretends, I do, if the mods will allow please post your evidence. However if I seen you and we have met several times being that I will normally get a nice room where you will feel comfortable saving you the expense of a hotel, generally I think it is fair to have the original rate locked in and if this is not the case I will simply see someone else. Just like any business rates should be raise as you see fit however some here seem to take offense when their business drops off and begin sending nasty hate filed pms and threats of "blacklisting". Anyone who has chatted ,met, or read any of my reviews probably knows I could careless about being blacklisted but with that said, would love everyone to weight in on how the original question, which is how are you setting your rates in relation to the local market and for the men, when do you feel the need to ask for a lower rate and why?

Needless to say this is a very touchy subject on both sides of the fence. I'm going to do my best to straddle that fence.

I've been around since the Escort America days. I was on both incarnations of the Sweet Dixie boards. I was on Becky's Bama Babes site. And I'm here on ECCIE and a couple of other boards as well.

Some things seem to be the same on all boards, guys complain about prices and the guys that are willing to pay them. Gals wondering why they get no response and complaining about guys wanting to negotiate lower rates or telling them that their rates are too high.

At one time it was considered to be in very poor form and rude to try and negotiate lower rates with the ladies. Maybe those days are gone. I don't know. I've been out of the loop for a few years due to the unstable job market.

From my perspective the lady should feel free to ask for any donation she wants. From there it's up to the guys to decide if they want to shell out that much. If I see a lady's ad and I feel it is more than I want to spend I just move along and keep my opinions to myself. I think a lot of people around here would be better off adopting that stance.

But I will also say that for those who are not too particular and willing to risk ending up in a room with a druggie and her pimp, backpage has plenty of options for the bargain basement shoppers. That too can cause pressure on ladies who have higher standards and/or self-esteem.

I'll crawl back into the wood work now. Hopefully I haven't offended any ladies here, and I apologize if I have. If I've offended any guys... oh well.

The blacklist site is a farce. Any hooker who goes by that is a fool since a certain large hooker in Texas blacklisted some members here just for calling her names on the forum. And those members she blacklisted never even contacted her wanting to see her.

As far as rates. I could care a less what a chick charges. If she interests me I will see her. If she doesn't I will not waste my time.

I don't negotiate, I've set a range for myself, the top end being $200-$300. That doesn't mean I won't go over $300, but it has to be someone I consider special. If the lady is to expensive I just go on to the next.

Because so many ladies do. At least most times for me with the multihour rates some don't advertise with. This isn't only restricted to backpage. Although its far easier there to do. Their have been many times in the strickest of confidence guys will tell me what they paid versus what rate they put in there review. There's always a difference to some degree. But there are different situations for each guy and girl too. Ymmv.

Its not about asking for a lower rate at all. You ultimately have to be well versed with your area and what ladies charge. Every lady ultimately makes this decision personally. Just as some ladies get upset about guys chatting about rates.....providers get just as upset with each other when one lowers her rate which might lend itself to a par change. There have been many times new ladies I know were told to raise there rates as soon as they arrived here on eccie. Way before garnering reviews. Hobbyist are telling these ladies to raise there rates fast too. Grandfathering rates should be at a ladies discretion as always.

As long as you are respectful it shouldn't be an issue. I will admit though I don't negotiate with too many reputable independents, because most have reviews which can back up their service acumen. For me I negotiate with multihous.....because so many ladies do. Some don't and are firm in their responses. I do notice though with most independents......at least in my past prior to reviews on this site......ladies would look at how much I paid in past reviews and try to ask for the same. I stopped posting a lot of reviews for that reason. A lady can assume what I may pay but she doesn't rightfully know.

On Backpage however.........if you see enough ladies locally. Most have similar rates for multihours. When you see enough of them word gets around and ladies tend to charge similar or slightly below initially maybe to compete. For me I always seek a full GFE experience. If I can't get that type of engagement I either won't see her or I will see a lady for far less depending on the what she offers for the rate.

I think this is the best post so far. I believe you get what you pay for and you shouldn't negotiate with the ladies price. There are always other girls out there, same with the men.

It's just like shopping around and I am the new toy on the playground! !

As for Sweet Sky Blue, you make a valid point however getting what you pay for in this hobby is a myth. There are providers here whose rates are 300 plus and almost every review is bad or average at best, yet guys continue to see them. Personally one of the best providers I've seen has a normal rate of 160 but lives over an hour away but I"ll do double her rate plus, gas and the room. If you're decent at math you should be able to figure at out the amount spent but if not the room rate is about a buck fifty. Conversely Ive seen providers for doubled that rate and left unimpressed and I don't consider myself all that hard to please.
I'm a pretty loyal person so if I've seen you and you're good I'll repeat several times a month but doing a convenience fee just because is something that I will generally pass on 100 out of 100 times.
Shopping around is good but from my experience, the people that "shop around" do so because either they can't make a decision on what they want, can't afford what they want, are looking for a bargain or have a lots of time on their hands.
