Social distancing can be just as effective or more effective than masks, so good for you. Or better yet do both.
I must have come in contact with a ton of people who had it, since around 25% of the people where I live have had it. I was riding in a car and eating lunch with a good friend, who came down with symptoms that evening. I got very intimate with a stripper/ATR escort one evening. We spent several hours together, and she had a cough but swore she wasn't sick. A day or two later she texts me to tell me she has Covid and I should get tested. There's another stripper who I see once a week. She had a bad case of Covid but I never caught it.
I eat out with friends and business associates about 4 times a week. I haven't stopped flying, including several trips to one of the few countries that has a bigger Covid problem than the U.S.
In other words, I haven't let Covid put a dent in my life. But still I haven't gotten it, or at least if I did it was asymptomatic. I think the reason is because I am, believe it or not, cautious. I use N95 and KN95 masks exclusively. I generally mask up when I'm not eating or seducing women. OK, when I'm not paying women for sex. I try to social distance. I try to wear glasses when I'm flying. I try to do all this when I'm with people people who either (a) aren't in my social group, or (b) aren't women I want to bang. I've been known to walk out of a restaurant when it was too crowded. And at the gym I do wear a mask and try to stay away from people who aren't wearing one or who are breathing hard.
All of which leads to my next point,

Oeb, I don't understand why people equate mask laws with lockdowns and damage to the small businessman and the economy. I believe it's the opposite. If Levianon's gym, the one where no one wears a mask, were next door to me, I wouldn't use it. I won't eat at crowded restaurants. I know people who won't shop, and who haven't bought clothes in months, because they're afraid of Covid. Masking up is good for the economy. Perhaps unlike you, a large percentage of the population is even more paranoid than I am, and they're not out spending money the way they used to. Older people too, and they're not paranoid.
Please do not equate DPST with mask lovers. Austin Ellen is a mask lover, and she loves Trump a lot more than you do. I am a mask lover, and I want to do away with the income tax. The Republican Party must have a place for people like us. Otherwise it will splinter and America will become a one party state.
Nobody's answered a question I've posed here. Do you personally know a single person in Texas who had to pay a fine because he/she wasn't wearing a mask? We don't put people in jail for not wearing masks. Respectfully, I think it's ridiculous to equate a mask mandate with something that Maduro or Kim or the Castro brothers would have done to control the populace.

Trump would still be President if he had worn a mask and had convinced all his followers to.
Imho
Tiny,
I don't know a soul who has been targeted by LE to wear a mask

Interesting thought. The optics were really bad. Downplaying or ignoring the disease and not wearing a mask definitely hurt him. He wouldn't have gotten all his followers to mask up, but still setting a better example would have helped him come election day. If he had indeed been able to get most to wear masks and social distance when appropriate, the effects on the economy would have been favorable IMHO. Fewer people would have died. We could argue til the cows come home how significant the effect on the economy or deaths would have been. But regardless he would be viewed as more of a uniter and less of a divider.

No he wouldn't. The Dems had planned far in advanced how they were going to chuck him to the curb.

+1 Good post Tiny.
KN95 mask is the way to go. They sell for $3.99 for one at the QT gas station in Dallas. If you already have a supply of the little blue masks, wear two of them.

Tiny - 'people ' - who equate masks and lockdowns - are the repressive anti-business DPST marxists who want to shut down the economy and destroy small business -
Just ask Lizzie Warren.
The masks / shutdowns started with little real info on the wuhan virus - and we went about it backward due to morons like fauci - we should have kept the economy open for people who choose to do so - and helped with sheltering the at-risk and folks who chose to shut- in.
Masks have unfortunately become a political litmus test for party affiliation. I personally feel they are helpful, and harmless - but disagree with blanket mandates the authoritarian DPST tiny tyrants love so dearly. abbot in texas is opening up the state - and with vaccination progressing I agree it is reasonable.
authoritarian DPST ruled places are condemning the action - seeing loss of their authority and control of the People. Asshats such as cuomo, deBlasio, newsome, nazi pelosi, commie schumer, and other incompetents love their control!.
People are free to wear masks, and businesses are free to require them at their discretion - and refuse customers who won't wear them if the business requires them.
Freedom - and common sense - anathema to the DPST tyrants.
Now the idiots want two masks - and where does that end - in Orwellian dystopia Groupthink required by pelosi/schummer /senile fiden. Or suffocation of all conservatives not already in AOC camps.

Wearing a mask is like wearing a cross around your neck: Doesn't really protect you as much as it identifies you as a friendly to the other religious fanatics.

GG - I might disagree - it is a badge of compliance among the DPST 'religiosity fanatics' of their idiotology.

Mask wearing protects others more than it protects the wearer.

Marcus Welby, when my turn comes up I will do just that. Twenty million people got the shot so far. The concept of Herd Immunity (where 200 million infected people or vaccinated people in the USA are protecting 130 million uninfected people) will have a chance to work once that 200 million number is reached. Until then you should wear a mask and practice social distancing.

provided it's worn correctly, and it seldom is.
Half the people I see in a day aren't covering their noses.
The air always takes the path of least resistance, and if it can't easily go through the mask, then it blows out the sides of the mask or up the sides of the nose.
