CDC estimates that influenza was associated with 45 million illnesses, 21 million medical visits, 810,000 hospitalizations, and 61,000 deaths during the 2017–2018 influenza season. 11 people were treated for Ebola in the US. 9 of them contracted it in Africa. It’s not an air borne pathogen. It was a blip on the screen. It’s mainly in Africa.

Somehow this thread is now a blaming President Trump for a lack of PPE thread. Wonder how that happened?

That's about the size of it. The prosecution puts a 9 year old girl on the stand to tell us how traumatized she was. What the fuck has that got to do with causation and intent, the only two things that "should' matter in this trial. Floyd either died as a direct result of the knee to the neck, a contributing factor or no factor at all meaning Floyd might have died sitting in the back of that car ( if he had let the cops put him in the back, he didn't ) because of the drugs he ingested along with his heart condition and working himself into a lather and upping his own adrenaline level.
One witness testified that Floyd was "foaming at the mouth", likely a result of the drug use.
The thing I can't easily dis-miss, is a picture of Chauvin with his knee "still" on Floyds neck after Floyd had stopped moving and the EMT taking Floyds pulse with the knee still on his neck. The defense is using the excuse of the knee to the neck to "keep him from getting up". Once he stopped any movement, would have been time to get off him, a callous disregard for his well being at the very least..
But, if I heard right, Floyd did not die at the scene but later that night at the hospital. I don't know how the law sees that fact but it would seem to me that "asphyxiation", stopping his breathing, was not the cause of death.
I don't see any juror not deciding that Chauvin "contributed" to the death of Floyd by his "in-action". What charge that demands, I don't know.
A lot of discussion about Chauvin taking the stand since, as I said before, intent, is one of two things that must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. If he can't get up there and make the case that he did not intend to cause harm to Floyd, that will not bode well for him but if he does take the stand, the prosecution will scour his record for anything that looks like excessive force especially against Blacks. If the defense knows that "something" is there, they can't put him on the stand even if Chauvin could dispel the intent.
I'll wait to hear the full defense before predicting the final outcome.
One thing I thought was interesting is the definition of Cardiopulmonary arrest and it came from the prosecution which I thought was strange. Every death comes when the heart stops beating. It literally means death he said. Well shit, that doesn't help the prosecution as far as I can see. He would have to make the case that Chauvin's actions directly caused this heart to stop and apparently, it didn't till later that night. There is already "reasonable doubt" in my mind as to causation. Proving intent might be a steep hill to climb if it weren't for this already heightened racial atmosphere.

He had no pulse at the scene.
Not sure how many folks would consider that as being alive.

I'm just gonna post this here since several posters are denying it.
An autopsy carried out by Dr. Andrew Baker, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, in June last year concluded Floyd's death was a homicide.

Military autopsy also said JFKs assignation was from a single shooter. But we’ve debated that before. His GF said they were both addicts. And said some other things that I can’t say here or I would post a link. You only need one juror to go a different direction. In this case, that might be a death sentence too.

No one has proved more than one person killed JFK. Lots of theories, zero proof.
I'll believe a coroner, or medical doctor, over anyone else, when it comes to cause of death.
If you want to pretend you know better, have at it!

Well, He’s one of the most renowned forensic pathologists in the world, he’s also an attorney. He says it wasn’t a single shooter. He’s from Pittsburgh. He’s had symposiums here on the subject. You can be naive. That’s your choice.

I don't know why people are trying to defend this piece of shit cop. What in the fuck are defensible about his actions? Kneeling on a man's neck for 9 minutes is actually worth defending for some of you people?
Many in this forum make light of your God Trump having people storm the capitol like it is a scene from Planet of The Apes and you stick up for this idiot murdering cop? Seriously? Yeah, that makes perfect logical sense. LOL

It’s called due process. Nobody’s talking about Trump here. Except you. You’re making statements before all the evidence is submitted. A true Ivy League scholar no doubt.

As for the Floyd trial, it’s going to go for weeks. The only thing the matters now is the verdict.

90% of the wall, bullshit. It was like 80 miles. More alternate facts from dumb shits.
There is no evidence except trump that said the military was gutted.
There is no evidence that the "shelves" were empty either. Trump was just trying to make excuses.

Knee to the neck for a couple minutes I can see. It seems to me that moving knee to between the shoulder blades or a little lower would have been just as effective. Waiting for a police captain or trainer come on the stand and state that is how they are trained. Riots start.
I didn't get the 9yo girl either, a sympathy play by the prosecution...
He's gotta go down for something and at least get a few years.

I don't think Trump was President during an Ebola outbreak. Obama was President that's when those two Doctors contracted it and they came up with some treatment called ZMapp. The whole incident was BS, it wasn't worth taking seriously and nobody with an ounce of sense did.
