Man, you just never learn do you. You could have easily done a search to find out it is true so once again you are proven to be uninformed. I'm beginning to believe you are a masochist.

In 2019, the Pew Research Center found that over half of Americans (54%) either got their news "sometimes" or "often" from social media, and Facebook was the most popular social media site where American adults got their news.

Now you're lying.
Pew research does not say "Most people get their news from Facebook and YouTube."
Pew research says 54% get news "sometimes" or "often", from social media.
Feel free to continue making things up!

That's not even the point. The point is canceling independent content creators who provide the news and promoting corporate media as the H I M given truth. Neither side of the idiot parade wins.

He only believes what FOX tells him to believe. Only dumbasses like foxholeforever and dingdong think research centers take an accurate account of all Americans.
Independent content creators don't hold themselves to the same standards as the collective press. They just want the clicks.
These young shitheads just don't get it. Even the old ones don't understand the dynamic. Only my generation knows the truth.

You actually want independent media to be destroyed. Big brother will be proud of you.
The collective press is bought by corporations.

Independent media refers to any media, such as television, newspapers or Internet-based publications, that is free of influence by government or corporate interests.

Maybe alternative media is a better word. These are small media outlets, like those you might find on YouTube. Both are after clicks, but the alternative media is not being controlled by corporations. At least not yet.

Alternative. Right.
Is there an association of these outlets? Do they have a common goal or binding interest?

independent media is basically not corporate media.
corporate media usually have an agenda. notice how they suppress any bad news about certain corporate owners of media companies.
Disney owns ABC
AT&T owns CNN
ViaCom owns CBS
General Electric used to own ABC I think.
NBC is prolly considered the only independent corporate media.

No. Anyone can spontaneously become an alternative news outlet, typically via social media. I guess you're hear to tell me how that's a bad thing.

There are also defense contractors and government agencies that sponsor those corporate media outlets, which means Raytheon and the CIA get to decide what news they broadcast.

GE owned, or still does own NBC. I remember the nightly news with the GE building video overhead before it started.

Not a bad thing. But, do you really expect anyone to take alternative media serious?
I still remember being thirteen or fourteen in Austin watching cable acces television. When Alex Jones was ranting about the black helicopters. Staying up late during the summers when I didn't have to go to school the next day.
Are you serious about taking him and his kind serious? It's only worse today. There is no journalistic integrity with him and Veritas. bina still doesn't get it.

Nope, it's a division of a parent company along with Universal which is owned by Comcast, formerly GE.

Alex Jones has freedom of speech. He should be allowed to share whatever crazy theory he comes up with, and you should have the freedom to listen to him or not.
Alex Jones is an example of one independent media source. There are plenty out there. You have the freedom to decide which to give your attention to. Not all of them are on the same level as Alex Jones. With alternative news, you get the bad with the good.
What's not cool is Google or Facebook intentionally suppressing alternative media outlets in favor of the corporate news. How is that a good thing? The thread is about freedom of speech, and that impedes freedom of speech.
I'm astonished that people still take the corporate news seriously, when they're obviously biased, corrupt and bought by corporations and government agencies. They've been caught lying and instigating violence repeatedly, and you still take them seriously?

The collective western press dumped that in the 90's. It's been a nonsensical fear factory for decades now, and with the advent of social media and viral content, they've doubled down hard. The facts don't matter anymore, all that does is adrev and breaking stories to drive traffic.
