The charitable deduction really only works if you itemize. So, of the providers I know in Pgh, perhaps 5 or 6 have any kind of either financial literacy or, in the time I've known them, have had the trappings of what I will call a "normal financial existence" the entire time (home of their own, car of their own, not out begging for cash, etc). When you've got to ask people for gas money whilst allegedly making hundreds of bucks an hour, there is either a problem on the demand side or a problem on the spending side (or both). With a few notable exceptions, I'll also throw gas on the flame fire and suggest that a lot of the best providers I've seen don't do it as their sole/primary source of income (and I don't mean in lieu of inane social media bullshit, I mean alongside a real job or investment income or alimony). I've also found that the providers who play it that way don't have to advertise daily, pop threADs, and have enough regulars to operate from a solid base of business regardless of shit like ECCIE (or now Indys, as of today) making advertising harder than it used to be.

Well, I’ve known my share of hookers over the years. Some had natural business instincts, most don’t. I never met one who actually established a corporation. An S Corp or an LLC. So they weren’t really running a business. I’m sure there are ladies across the country who do. Haven’t run into a local that has. Ariel from Elite is one of the few who made good money, bought a farm, traveled and got married.

Why would you go out of your way to say that? I never get in these threads but that was just so out of nowhere and mean.

I avoid logging on to this site because it's so hateful and it's the same 4 people saying the same mean things over and over. Why? Why can't we just focus on what we are all supposedly here for?

This is all so fucked up, I just want the past to be the past, can we try that? I don't even feel like I can interact with anyone without pissing someone off and it's so sad.

Indys was there for me. I don't know much about the new laws, I know things are changing and change is REALLY hard for some people. I want to show all the love and support I can to a site that literally changed my life and has been there for me. If that makes me unpopular and you'd like to bully me as well, pile on.

This negativity is destroying the Pittsburgh hobby community and I guess since it doesn't impact you, it's somehow entertaining but this is literally my livelihood. It's not a joke and trolling people sure makes it seem like you think it is.

Says the self proclaimed Indys all time warning points leader. Negativity begets negativity, at least admit you and people like yourself also played a huge part in it and then maybe a discussion can begin.

Until then, the way I see it is pretty simple, Indys was there for me. Since I joined, thru my own person drama and problems, they were there. I can't say that for anyone else in my life.

Talk all the shit you want about the owners, we know who you are really talking about... someone who you are intentionally bullying as seen above. I just don't get why you feel the need to perpetuate it and at the same time say negativity has destroyed the hobby. Talk about a catch 22. It's almost as if you are happy about it.

Mrs Banks has hit the nail on the head when it comes to the Pitt forums. I moderate 9 different forums, with Pitt being 10X worse than ALL my other areas combined.

I have never seen so much bitterness, negativity and people digging up crap that happened years ago and are still hanging on to it like a meaty bone.

I have been assigned to this forum for a year. When I first was assigned to this area, I came in with an open mind and a clean slate. My thought process was to try my very best to be a "helping hand" style moderator. That obviously has not worked here, leaving me no choice but to revert to plan B, which is to be heavy handed when it comes to issuing infractions. As she said, it is the same handful of people creating the most drama.

The members here deserve the forum they have created..

And you can only imagine then what it's been like for mods at TOS and why those who called Indys home also now have the platform we have created by people having this terrible attitude.

I just received some sage advice, "don't get into a pissing contest with a skunk", and while I generally abide by this nugget of wisdom I refuse to sit back and watch someone who has stuck their neck out for me and nearly every working woman in this city get bullied over the weirdest, truly insane, completely idiotic same 3 stores over, and over, and over.

Don't we all have a bigger goal here? TOS did but the toxic nature of people in this area have nearly forced it into extinction.
